Happy Productive Tuesday! That's what I'm calling it so I can psych myself into being productive. Because yesterday was L-A-Z-Y Monday. Now getting up at 9:48 am (and then spending the next 45 minutes aimlessly surfing) does make me a little behind at getting started on Productive Tuesday, but I shall overcome. And if not, there's always Ger 'Er Done Wednesday. ;-)
This card is where the *fanciness* comes in, thanks to the new SU Pretties Kit. I'm really not a *fancy* stamper and admire those who do it and make it look so easy. I made this card at Lori's crop to combine two of the Splitcoast Dare to Get Dirty challenges. We learned different techniques at Convention for coloring the Pretties flowers, and I used the easiest (big surprise!) one here: simply coloring it with a Simply Saffron marker. They really take color beautifully. I put the little spacers between the three beads on the stick pin and then stuck it through the ribbon (also learned at Convention).
I'm glad they did demonstrate the Pretties Kit at Convention, because honestly, mine had sat in a drawer unopened since it arrived. Yes, I would take it out occasionally to say "Oooooh, it's so pretty!" but then promptly put it away again. If you've made some cards with the Pretties Kit, put the link in the Comments section so we can all check them out!
Lastly, I thought I would share this challenge card that I posted yesterday. You can see it has been stepped up a notch for another Dare to Get Dirty challenge, which is the only thing that I actually did do yesterday. (I told you combining challenges was the way to go, especially if you still need to complete 28 challenges by the August 22 deadline because of some crazy, self-imposed ultimatum.) I'm pretty simple, so I think I really prefer the first card, although the scallop edge on the Groovy Guava piece is better. What do you think?
Okay, time for Productive Tuesday to begin...just as soon as I check out Google Reader and see what new posts my fellow bloggers have made...

This is so pretty...I am so glad I am not the only one with LAZY days!! I have been guilty of sleepin' in and then doin' a little surfin' myself more than once or twice this summer! :)
such a beautiful card! you sure did a good job "fancy-ing" it up. i think you're pretty good at it!
I wish I could sleep in. What a wonderful gift! LOL. My two kids are up before 7 am every morning no matter how late we put them to bed.
I love the first card. That set is high on my Wish List. I think I have to get it next month. The pretties work so well with the layout. I still haven't had a chance to get those either. I feel my wallet getting lighter.
