365 Cards, Day 349: Warm Wishes

Happy Thursday and one more day until Christmas vacation!! Can you tell I'm excited?!

When I stamped over Thanksgiving break (a mere 3 weeks ago), I made extra embossed deers from the Stampin' Up! Remembering Christmas set and saved them for some future cards, like this one! I loved this Day 349: Super Sketchy Sunday, so I whipped this little card up. I see more cardmaking in my very near future! hehe!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

STS#10: Happy Birthday

Happy Saturday! Hope you are having a great weekend! I taught Saturday school this morning with a very small attendance, only 3 students! Yikes! But we had a wonderful time anyway! :)

Earlier this week I had a request for a card from a lovely teacher friend of mine. I think of her as the New Girl. Well, she's New Girl at appearance, but tough and no nonsense with her students at the same time, a great combination! She needed a "floral, vintage" birthday card for her mom, so this is what I came up with using Seize the Sketch #10. I also used my envelope maker, LOVE that thing! Most of the goodies I used are from October Afternoon Thrift Shop or 5 & Dime.

Gift Bows & Bells

Happy Friday! Hope you've had a good week and stayed in safe in winter weather!

Earlier this week I played with my new Big Shot Gift Bows die, love that thing! I'm looking forward to making more for special gift packages this weekend. For now, I attached my first bow to this little Santa card, along with a few happy bells and paper from My Mind's Eye Lost & Found Christmas pad.

Give Thanks

Happy Tuesday! While on fall break last week, I finally got a chance to play with my new and first Reverse Confetti stamp set, Forever Fall! I heart it big-time! Of course, did I get around to sending out Thanksgiving cards? Sigh, no. But there's always next year!

I stamped with some friends on Monday and played along with the Retro Sketch #91, which is now closed, haha! I'm a little late getting this posted. )I'm blaming it on learning how to use my new phone and transfer photos!) Anyway, I had limited supplies at my friend's house, so I used my washi tape to cover my rectangles. I love the washi tape and may have a problem!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

Santa Claus

Happy December!

I'm up today on the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps blog, yay!

I played with the Naughty or Nice stamp set, one of my faves. Considering the amount of pie I've eaten the last two days, I definitely fall into the naughty category!

I embossed that great sentiment in red and splashed some Heidi Swapp Tinsel Color Shine on it. The patterned paper is from Studio Calico. Doesn't it make you think of Santa coming down the chimney?!  I was inspired by the Cardabilities Sketch #88. The top tab worked out well for a removable "list"...you know he's checking it twice, right?!

I hope your holiday card production is coming along better than mine, yikes! If you need some inspiration, head over to CAS-ual Fridays Stamps to check out Michele's great holiday sets!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

Mr. & Mrs.

Happy Sunday!

I haven't done a lot of paper crafting the past two weeks with school craziness, but I did make this wedding card and envelope for an awesome teacher (now teacher trainer) I work with, Katie Q, now Mrs. Fleck. This is sized a little larger at 5" x 7" so plenty of staff members would have space to sign. I used lots of goodies, old and new, from my stash on this one.

My fab sister-in-law gave me an envelope maker for my birthday back in July, so I, ummm, finally broke it open to make this coordinating envelope. I'll be using it ALL the time now! It's so easy! I used my (old) Basic Grey magnets for the closure and it turned out so nicely!

I'm officially on Fall Break, so you should be seeing a lot from me this week! *smile*

CAS-ual Fridays Stamps: November Sneak Peek #3

Happy Wednesday and Happy CAS-ual Fridays Stamps November Sneak Peek #3!

We've already had two great new stamp sets shown so far this week, but this is my favorite because it's texty goodness!! Swoon! I love everything texty! This new set is called Out Loud and it has 4 text blocks in different fonts and 2 sentiments in different fonts. This set is so versatile, I know it'll be a "go to" set for me constantly!

For my card today I used the text to create little feathers. I'm crazy mad about feathers right now! And texty feathers are the best! :) I should have 'spiked' my feather edges out a little better, it's kind of hard to tell in the photo. I also branched out with a bright color this time! lol! Shredding that burlap ribbon was really fun too! hehe!

Head on over to the CAS-ual Fridays blog now because you won't believe all the different styles and looks the design team came up with Out Loud. You'll want to leave a comment there for a chance to win the set for yourself, too! :)

CAS-ual Fridays Stamps: November Sneak Peek #2

Happy Tuesday!

I hope your week is off to a great start!

I'm back with the second sneak peek of the November release for CAS-ual Fridays Stamps, yay! Today's new stamp set is called Wallflower, and you are going to love it! It has great sentiments and stamps that coordinate with the 4 Petal Set Fri-Die! So many possibilities!

Up first, I couldn't resist heat embossing this great sentiment in white inside the perfectly-sized frame on this patterned paper. I finished it off with a little button and some chevron ribbon that I've been hoarding! lol! Super quick card!

For my second card, I was envisioning the four petal stamp covered with red flocking! I added the "my friend" sentiment but you could totally "holiday" this card up! I stamped first with red ink, then applied some clear glue and covered it with Martha Stewart's red flocking. I admit I lost control of the sewing machine a few times, so don't judge too harshly! ha!

Be sure and head over to the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps blog to see the wonderful cards from the rest of the design team and leave a comment for a chance to win the new Wallflower stamp set!
p.s. Michele is showing an image of the whole stamp set, which I really appreciate in a sneak peek!

CAS-ual Fridays Stamps: November Sneak Peek #1

Happy Monday!
I'm so excited to share some sneak peeks for the November CAS-ual Fridays Stamps release! Today's new set is called Butterbows and you are going to love the beautiful butterfly rainbow and all the lovely sentiments!

For my first card, below, I heat embossed the rainbow stamp with red embossing powder and die cut a heart shape on the panel above it. The sentiment "You still give me butterflies" is so perfect! I used the CAS-ual Fri-Die 4 Petal Set to make my butterfly out of wool felt and glittered it up!

For my second card, I imagined a golden Christmas wreath made out of the rainbow stamp. I stamped it twice to form the circle shape and heat embossed with gold embossing powder. I used the sentiment from the Christmas Carols set which fit perfectly. The polka dot cardstock  from a Jenni Bowlin kit and the little bow from a Studio Calico kit give it a fun twist, I hope! :)

I tried to show some different looks and different holiday cards you could create with the new Butterbows set. You must head over to the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps blog now and see the amazing cards from the rest of the design team and comment for a chance to win it!

Moxie Fab Thanks Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Moxie Fab Thanks Blog Hop!
If you're hopping along, you just came from Jennifer Priest's awesome blog!

If you read this post from Cath at Moxie Fab World back on November 1st, I'm sure your heart sank just like mine. How can paper crafters throughout the world survive without the creative inspiration and challenges from Cath?! The thought is inconceivable!

So in order to pay tribute and show our love and appreciation for Cath, a monster blog hop was organized and engineered, and I'm so happy to be a part of it. I really owe Cath a lot. I won several of her Moxie Fab Challenges early in my paper crafting days, and it gave me the confidence to put myself out there, aim higher, and achieve more. Thanks for that, Cath!
I know a Moxie Fab Future awaits you, no matter what you decide to do next!

Keep hopping along with us as more bloggers share their love and gratitude for Cath!
Next up is my friend and creative genius, Bev Gerard!

Here's a full line up of all the stops on the hop!

Unscripted Sketches #226: Family

Happy Monday! How do the weekends go by so quickly?! I did get a chuckle on the walk into school when I heard a 4th grader telling a group of kids, "...and Tony Romo was smiling at all the girls, AND he's already married!" lol! Not sure where he witnessed this, but I hope his values stay that strong, the 4th grader's values, that is!

Last night I whipped up a couple of overdue birthday cards that a co-worker ordered, oops, like months ago. (I told dh tonight that I'm working on getting my *stuff* together, and I'm hoping to have that done by the time I turn 50.) She wanted something with chickens for this card, so after rooting around (get it?) in my stash, I found a few in the October Afternoon Farmhouse collection. That was an awesome collection, by the way.

I was inspired by the Unscripted Sketches #226, although I flipped it to work with that pretty stamp I used. I'm counting my three "dot" embellishments as the rooster label, date label, and Maya Road chipboard house. Close enough, right?!

Okay, gotta dash. Can't lie...when I went to google "October Afternoon farm" to see what that collection was called, I found out they have a Public Library collection!!! Get out! I am a library girl from way back, so I must go find out where to order it. NOW! heehee!

CAS-ual Fridays Stamps: Spooky!

Happy Sunday!

I'm up today on the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps blogso I had to play with the new Spooky stamp set again! I'm in love with that little ghost!! I embossed her in white, then then colored her by dipping a Blender Pen into a white pigment ink pad. I love that effect! I use it a lot on snowmen stamped on kraft cardstock as well.

I used the Oval Tags Fri-Die for my side cut-out, and I used the cool circle stamp to make my background. It's so easy to line up!

I broke the sentiment stamp up by using a wooden banner from Studio Calico painted with white pigment ink. The inspiration came from the awesome Seize the Sketch #5.

I hope you have a great Sunday!
Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

CAS-ual Fridays Stamps: October Sneak Peek #4

Happy Wednesday!
Welcome to Sneak Peek #4 for the October release from CAS-ual Fridays Stamps!

Yep, it's another awesome die...the Funky Round Tag Fri-Die!
It contains three pieces with endless uses and coordinates with the Exclamations stamp set.
Since the holidays are coming, I decided to make "funky" snowflakes! I did some random stitching to give the card a "snowy" feel (in my mind at least!) and then attached the dies with yarn. I added the holiday sentiment from the Christmas Carols stamp sets.

Be sure and head over to the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps blog to check out the awesome projects from the rest of the design team and leave a comment for a chance to win this new die!

CAS-ual Fridays Stamps: October Sneak Peek #3

Welcome to Day 3 of the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps October Sneak Peeks!
I hope you enjoyed the new stamp sets Spooky and Amber Waves!

Today we are showing a new Fri-Dies called Four Petals!
It's another wafer thin die that cuts beautifully through cardstock as well as wool and felt like I used on my card. There are two different sizes and they perfectly fit the stamps in the Christmas Carols set. Of course, you can change the petals to fit any season with a simple change of color. Check out the samples from the rest of the design team to see what I'm talking about at the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps blog! Leave a comment there for a chance to win the new die!

To kick up the "holiday drama" on my card, I used Heidi Swapp Tinsel Color Shine Spritz and silver embossing powder for my sentiment. Simple, but elegant. Hope you like it!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

Stampin' Up!: Halloween Projects

Happy Sunday! Here's a quick share of some Halloween projects I made recently at Stamp Club with my demo Lori Souter. She's awesome and her blog is Found My Happy!

Don't you love the shimmer on the broomstick?!

The broomstick is made with Chocolate Twizzlers! Did you know that existed?! I didn't!
Lori found them at Walgreens, and they are delicious! I had to test them, you know!

This is the inside of the treat box. Yes, she gives us treats to put inside,
although some of us choose to eat them before we get home! hee! hee!

Don't you love these adorable chevron bags that are available in the Stampin' Up! catalog?!

That's it for now, it's Hitchcock day on TCM! :)
