CFS Stamps: Woot Woot!

Happy Monday!

I'm up today on the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps blog, so I squeezed in a little stamping time with one of my all-time favorite sets, Woot Woot!

I played with layered color for these. The first card has four ink colors and the card below has the same four colors using cardstock, then the sentiment embossed in white on top. The color inspiration was from this challenge that I repinned awhile back. Isn't it fun?!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

SU: Cool Kid

Happy Monday!

Here's a simple little card for my sweet nephew, Logan, who happens to be a VERY cool kid! :)

I used the  Stampin' Up! set Cool Kid and Kaleidoscope DSP from the Occasions Mini catalog that's out right now. For the layout, I did a SU catalog case (p. 57), where you pick a card from a page and just copy the layout with your own stamps and colors. I love how it turned out...it's bright and fun, but would still mail "flat" in an envelope. It has no embellishments! Miracle! lol!

That's it for tonight. Today was our first day back from spring break and I don't know who was more tired...me or the students. They were like little, glassy-eyed zombies. Poor babies! I bet they'll be back to normal tomorrow though! haha!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

Throw Your Hands Up, Birthday Girl!

Happy Sunday!

Spring Break is over, sigh, but it looks like winter is not, brrrr!

I forgot to share this card last week that I made (but didn't link up in time!) for the Fusion #5 challenge. It was a very belated birthday card for my fabulous sister-in-law who loves to dance. I loved these colors together, that pop of turquoise was super fun! The "Throw Your Hands" stamp is from a Studio Calico kit. I used part of the arrow die from CFS Heart Board Fri-Dies, so many uses for that arrow!

My new bedtime has become around 4 am, so wish me luck tomorrow when I have to get up at 5 am again! Ouch! :)    Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

Winnie & Walter Premiere of The Big, the Bold, and You

Welcome back to the 4th and final day of the new stamp releases from winnie & walter!

If you are familiar with and love the uberly popular set from their 1st release: The Big, The Bold, and the Happy, then you are going to be ecstatic to see today's release:
The Big, The Bold, and You!

For my 1st card, I had to play with the idea I had on yesterday's blog post, of making the silhouette man and woman face each other for a wedding or anniversary card. Luckily, the stamps are designed to face each other, so this was a snap! I used some silver embossing and thought they fit perfectly with this constellationy (is that a word?!) paper.

For my 2nd card, I went CAS with the big "thanks" stamp in black Staz-on ink positioned over some little watercolor banners. Looks simple, right, but somehow this one took me six tries to get it perfect! Argh! lol! Between embossing powder blowing everywhere and fat, inky fingers mucking things up, I finally showed this card who was boss! :)

Run over to the winnie & walter blog now to see the amazing projects from Julie & Shay and the "talent" design team! They have blown me away all week! They have such a great variety of styles that really showcase the stamps. Even though I just used two of the big sentiments on my projects, there are at least a dozen "little" words that come with this stamp set, so you can customize your own creative greeting!

All the new release stamps shown this week will be on sale March 15!

Thanks again for the random drawing that let Julie & Shay pick my name to be their 2nd release guest designer! I have enjoyed getting to know them as sweet, patient, generous gals, and I have had the best experience working with them. Their stamps are amazing and I know they are going to continue achieving great success!

Winnie & Walter Premiere of The Write Stuff: Leave it to Mom

I'm super excited to be back as guest designer on Day 3
of the winnie & walter premiere week!

You'll definitely see a connection to yesterday's premiere with this one...
The Write Stuff: Leave it to Mom!

This set features another beautiful silhouette stamp, a frame, flowers, and tons of sentiments!

My first thought when I saw this set was...chalkboard technique!
I stamped the frame, silhouette, and scroll in white pigment ink, then added some chalk marker dots, pearls, resin flowers, and a banner! What mom wouldn't love to receive a card that says "Mother Knows Best"?! haha! I added a little patterned paper behind the chalk tag (a package of them was a random Marshall's clearance find) and used a stencil with modeling paste for texture on the white base. I also splashed a little Heidi Swapp color mist in there, because I may be addicted to it. Shhhh.

For my second card, I embossed the silhouette stamp in white on a wooden tag. Love this look! The first tag I made (yes, there was a first and a second) had the most beautiful markings on it, but I noticed the heat embossing kind of warped it, so I tried to bend it back in place. Don't try to bend wood. It won't work. (Don't tell my science teacher I did that!)

The frame is also embossed in white, can you see it hiding behind the tag? The bright yellowish card is from Glitz, the Finnley Bits & Pieces package, that came with one of my Jenni Bowlin kits, but it seemed to fit so perfectly here, I had to add it. I think it could work for a mom to send to a daughter or for a daughter to send to a mom. So sweet.

For my last card, I wanted to use the "WWMD" stamp that came with the set. I love the clean lines of the font, so went more CAS with this one. Super easy and quick card to make. I stamped the silhouette stamp onto the back of the patterned paper and cut it out. You get a reverse image this way, sort of like getting two stamps in one. Oooh, a cool idea would be to use the dad silhouette from yesterday and the reversal of the mom silhouette so they are facing each other. That would make a great wedding or anniversary card! Okay, gotta go try that now! lol!

I'm entering this last card into the CAS•ology Roots challenge
Nothing says "roots" to me like mom! She still keeps me grounded at 47! lol!

I hope you enjoyed today's peek at The Write Stuff: Leave it to Mom!
Be sure and head over to the winnie & walter blog to see the fabulous projects that Julie, Shay, Kelly, Heather, Joni, Vanessa, and Suzanne made! They blow me away!!

I'll be back tomorrow with one more new set to show off, then all the sets will be available for purchase on March 15. Here are the important happenings:

Winnie & Walter Premiere of The Write Stuff: Leave it to Dad

It's day 2 of the new releases at winnie & walter! Yay!
I'm so excited to be the lucky guest designer this month!
Are you ready to see some cards with The Write Stuff: Leave it to Dad?!

Okay, do you love this cool guy or what?! And that frame?! Eeek! I will be using it all the time!
This stamp set has so many fun pieces, you are going to love it!

For my 2nd card, I went with a more vintage feel.
The cool guy is still there, peeking out behind the Top Ten List, along with a timeless argyle stamp. When I saw all the descriptive little "bulleted" words, I knew they were perfect for a journaling card. These would be ideal for grandpas, too. So many possibilities with this set!

Head over to the winnie & walter blog now to see more amazing projects
from their design team, aptly named "the talent"!

Winnie & Walter: Premiere of Parentville!

I am excited beyond belief to be a guest designer this month for winnie & walter
Have you checked them out yet?! Oh my! I love, love, love them!
It's their 2nd release and believe me, their stamps and cut files are amazing!

Today is the premiere of the new Parentville stamp set!
It has oodles of sentiments and images for Mom and Dad.
This will definitely be a "go to" stamp set!

I love the script of the "Mom" stamp and paired it with the "You're the Best" stamp and the fabulous shoe stamp embossed in white. The "Dad" stamp is super glossy embossed in black, and I added the "thanks for your support" stamp along with the wallet stamp. I felt a little guilty, though, just thinking of Dad for money, so I added the little heart banner. hehe!

I am so grateful to the super sweet team at winnie & walter for drawing my name and allowing me to be their guest designer this month! Head over to their blog now, because lots of exciting things are happening!

CAS-ual Fridays Stamps: March Sneak Peek #3

Are you stoked?! I'm stoked!
It's Sneak Peek #3 for CAS-ual Fridays Stamps and this new set, Wait For It, is uber fun!!
The font is so cool with a retro feel...a disco feel to me...such good times! hehe!

For my first card above, I started out embossing in silver the long line with circles stamp from the Woot Woot stamp set. I also embossed the "I am" and "For" and "You" from two different stamsp and cut them apart. I love how easy it is to customize your sentiments this way! The kicker, though, was when I wanted to glitter up "stoked" in silver and I had NO silver glitter! What?! Yes, it's true. How could that be! I rummaged around and found some vintage glass glitter, but I really wanted a brighter silver here. Looks like I have some shopping to do! :)

I love the sentiment on this second card! I can definitely see making some of these for crafty friends and hard-working students! I used a Heidi Swapp star mask and glimmer mist spray along with some crystal stars, which ties in with the sentiment but really lets it stand out.

I hope you've enjoyed the sneak peeks this week!

Head over to the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps blog and check out the awesome cards from the rest of the designers! You'll want to leave a comment on all the sneak peeks, too, because Michele is going to draw one lucky person to win the entire March release! Woot! Woot!

CAS-ual Fridays Stamps: March Sneak Peek #2

Welcome back for Sneak Peek #2 for the March release at CAS-ual Fridays Stamps!

Michele has created a beautiful new stamp set called Casual Comfort
and a coordinating Fri-Dies called Casual Trees.
Another lovely set with so many possibilities!

For the card above, I used one of the Casual Trees Fri-Dies (two come in the set) with cork. I loved the natural feel of it mixed with the watercoloring, which is not my strongest talent, but I'm trying to learn. I stamped the coordinating stamp in pale pink ink to kind of fade in with the watercoloring. That wooden banner fit the sentiment perfectly, but I debated on it. Does it seem too "festive"?

For my next card, I used the second die in the Casual Trees Fri-Dies to create a stencil and then filled it with modeling paste. (See this post for explanation and a picture.) I *planned* on coloring the paste with chalks or ink, but I chickened out. lol! I will go back and try it, though, because I am curious to see if I can do it. I wanted this card to show the versatility of Casual Comfort. I love all the sentiments Michele includes with the stamp sets; she makes it so easy to personalize and build your own greeting.

Be sure and head over to the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps blog now to check out the rest of the cards from the design team. You won't believe how many different looks were created with this set!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
I hope to see you tomorrow for Sneak Peek #3 of the March release!

CAS-ual Fridays Stamps: March Sneak Peek #1

Are you ready for a sneak peek of a new March release at CAS-ual Fridays Stamps?!

I'm super excited to share with you some cards from the new Clover stamp set!

You are going to love the wonderful sentiments in this stamp set!

Maybe because I'm so ready for spring, I played with some color this month.
On the card above, I embossed the sentiment in black on some pretty patterned paper,
then embossed the shamrocks in green and fussy cut them. A great blessing for anytime!

On my second card, I used the row of shamrock stamps to stamp right onto the twill tape. I embossed the sentiment in green, added a pretty flower and shamrock, and done!
A pretty card to send to a special friend!

You'll want to head over to the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps blog and check out the amazing cards from the rest of the design team! The different looks and styles will truly inspire you!

Stop back by tomorrow for another sneak peek!
Hugs and happy stamping!

STS#14: Happy Birthday to You!

When I saw Amy's super cute card, I had to play along with Seize the Sketch #14  . I used some of my recent Studio Calico kit papers, the Countless Sayings 2 Stampin' Up! photo polymer stamp embossed in black, and a Lawn Fawn bubble die. Happy card!
Unfortunately, my computer was moving at the speed of a turtle, and I didn't make the deadline to get it uploaded for the challenge! Doh! hehe!

Stay safe and warm...it looks like more winter is coming. Yesterday it was 81 degrees in Dallas and right now it is 27 degrees. That is confusing! lol!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!
