Lovely Flowers: hello friend

Happy Friday! Yahoo! We woke up to sunshine this morning! Oh happy day!

Here's a little card I made the other night using my Big Shot and the Simple Letter Alphabet Die. I added the "friend" from the Level 3 hostess set Lovely Flowers and then decided to stamp some flowers over the background, haven't done that in a long while. I do love the scrunched up ribbon with staples, can't seem to stop myself, sorry!

Hope you have a great Friday! DH and I are going to see The Hangover this afternoon. I've heard it's funny from so many people, sometimes it's good to just laugh at silliness.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

Perfect Chemistry: Happy Snowflake

Happy Thursday! Dallas has been like Seattle this week...raining everyday, grrrr! lol! Luckily it doesn't last all day and eventually the sun tries to pop out for awhile. It does give me lots of time to get stamping done, however! I made 6 cards yesterday, that might be a record for me!

Here I used that darling Perfect Chemistry again, along with the new Snowflake Punch. I also used the Big Shot with the Backgrounds 1 Texturz Plate for the polka dots on the Kraft cardstock. Do you think it needs a "Christmas" on it? I planned on adding it by the "Happy" but then I kind of liked it the way it was. I would use this for some SU Convention swaps if I had more of those red buttons, sigh. I wish we could get bigger quantities of buttons!

Okay, off to run some errands. I got my hair cut earlier today, it was looooong overdue. DH is guessing about it now, I like to scare him! lol! He likes it longer, you know, and it used to be super short like
this. I love having the power of the hair! hee! hee!

Hope you have a great day! Thanks for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

Recipe
Stamps: Perfect Chemistry
Cardstock: Kraft, Bashful Blue, Whisper White, Real Red.
Ink: Real Red.
Accessories: Big Shot, Background 1 Textruz Plate, Jumbo Snowflake Punch, Linen Thread, Bashful Blue 1/2" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, Mini Glue Dot, Dimensionals.

Cuttlebug Be Inspired Challenge #42

Happy Wednesday! It's time for the
Cuttlebug Challenge Be Inspired #42! This week we are celebrating National Friendship Week, so our challenge is to make a gatefold card celebrating best friends, thanking best friends, wishing best friends a "happy birthday" or a just because "you're my best friend" kind of card using some of our favorite new folders released at CHA. My gatefold is hidden behind that yummy ribbon, but here is a picture of it open and you can see the outlines where I used the new Journaling Card Folder:

For the outside of the card, I used the fabulous new Morroccan Folder, here is a picture that shows it a little better:

Remember to play along with us for your chance to win the new folders!! How do you win again:

-complete 4 of the 5 July challenges

-link them with Mr. Linky on each challenge and leave a comment

-be a member/follower of Cuttlebug Challenges

-deadline: Wednesday, August 5

Easy peasy, and you could win ALL of the new folders being released at CHA! You still have time, come on! The winner will be announced on August 6!

Laura's Sketch #31

Happy Tuesday! I decided to start the day (late as it was! hee!) with Laura's Sketch #31 over at 2S4Y! I had some rejected/leftover parts (the "hi" and ribbon flower) from this card, so I decided to start with those, kinda cheating I guess!

This card size is 3 1/4" x 6 1/2" which worked perfectly for this sketch, and it fits in the SU Small Open-End Envelopes...well hopefully it will, maybe not with that chunky ribbon flower and button! I found the cardstock piece in my stash, and it started at 3 1/4" x 10 1/2" so I scored it at 6 1/2" and that left a 4" flap piece that flips open to see the inside of the card. It was kind of hard to see in the photo, so I went back out and photographed the inside:

Speaking of 2S4Y, I received my prize box in the mail today from Laura & Kazan for the 2S4Y Ultimate Showdown! I was so honored to make it top 10, thanks so much!! Can't wait to play with my new goodies!

Hope you have a super day! Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

FYI: to make the little yellow polka dot ribbon yo yo, see this tutorial.

Clean and Simple #25 Challenge: Perfect Chemistry

Happy Monday night! I was not feeling the mojo today at all, but I just eeked out this little card for the Splitcoast Clean & Simple #25 challenge. It's based on a great card by Krystie, she's a clean and simple artistic genius! I'll try to get a better photo in the daylight tomorrow, but I decided to go ahead and post now since I've been slacking and my weekly average is down to 4.4 posts now, doh!

I used the new SU set Perfect Chemistry, love it! I thought it was going to be bigger, not sure why, I just did, but I still love it. With the new Woodgrain stamp and the new colorful buttons, I'm a very happy stamper! I'm not sure I can even make a card without a button anymore! lol!

Hope your week is off to a great start! Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

Just for You necklace card

Happy Sunday! Thanks to everyone who visited yesterday on the new SU Catty Cruise! I really appreciate all of your sweet comments! =)

I haven't done a lot of stamping lately...mainly due to my obsession with rereading all of the Twilight series books last week, ugh! (I read until 5:30 am and 6:30 am two days, see why I can't be trusted to read books during the school year?!)...but I'm all done now and plan on doing lots of new stamping this week! I have the SU Convention to start getting ready for! *wink*

In the meantime, here's a project I made at my mom's house while on vacation a few weeks ago using my new Basic Grey June Bug goodies. She asked me to make a card that could hold a vintage Sarah Coventry necklace she wanted to give to a special little girl. Can you see the little cross necklace there, hanging on the flower? I didn't have any little envelopes or envelope templates/dies, so I played around until I found a way to anchor it that didn't look too ugly, so here's the inside:

Here's the card with matching envelope:

Okay, I best get busy, now that I have all this vampire nonsense behind me...again! lol! I have some design projects to work on, plus a belated birthday celebration with my friends to celebrate two of our July birthdays. We're going to see 500 Days of Summer, looks sooooo good!, and to eat at Wild About Harry's, yummmmmmy! We love Harry!

Have a great Sunday! Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

Cosmo Cricket Baby!

Happy Monday! I'm home from vacation, but no time to stamp yet, so here's a card I made while at my mom's house using some yummy Cosmo Cricket Early Bird and Girl Friday goodies! Mom needed a baby shower card (remember that quilt she was making?!), so this seemed fitting. Here's the inside and matching envelope shot:

I'm so lucky my best friend from Missouri decided to come visit this week for a long weekend, so we have been working like crazy on the house since we got home yesterday. I had summer school teaching stuff to put away
(where do you teachers keep all your stuff in the summer?! Ugh!), plus we just need a general purge after living in this small house for six years. Stuff keeps coming in, but stuff never seems to go out! ha! Plus, we had to try to figure out how to squeeze in sleeping accommodations for guests. It's something we've needed to deal with for awhile, but kept putting off, but it's a good thing now that I'm working on it!

Gotta dash now, I'm still catching up on Google Reader...plan to make a round of visits tonight when I'm too tired to work anymore and need to fabulax on the sofa! Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

June Bug Happy 90th Birthday!

Happy Friday! I made a few cards for my mom yesterday for some special occasions she needed. I loved the way this one turned out for Aunt Ruth, who is celebrating her 90th birthday this Sunday. I used the yummy new Basic Grey June Bug collection that I found at Archiver's in Overland Park, KS last Saturday! Aunt Ruth is a quilter like my mom, so this paper was perfect!

The card base is SU Kraft and I also used Certainly Celery ran through my Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots folder. I had to get some envelopes at Wal-Mart, and they are 6 1/2" x 4 3/4", so the finished card size is 6" x 4 1/4". Here is the matching envelope:

I thought this would be a good time to show my mom in action with her long-arm quilting machine. She was quilting a darling baby quilt she made for a lady at church for her baby shower this weekend. Nice shower gift, huh?!!

We did take a little time off from all of our "work" on Wednesday and went shopping at the outlet mall and saw a movie, The Proposal. It was a good, happy chick flick movie!

Hope you're having a good week! I'll be visiting you soon and catching up on my Google Reader! Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

Sock Monkey Fabric Cards!

Happy Tuesday, chicas! I've been enjoying my vacation immensely and got a chance to play with my paper goodies today, yay! (Yes, I hauled a super large Rubbermaid tub of stuff to Missouri!) My Mom has been working on a baby quilt with this adorable sock monkey fabric, which I went nuts over, so she gave me some squares to play with! Aren't they the cutest! I thought I would make a little card set for my Etsy shop. Here are the individual cards:

Here's a Stampin' Up! birthday card for a special friend that went out a little late, unfortunately! Hopefully she will forgive me! This Pun Fun image was perfect for her, but I don't have this set. Happy Birthday USA...and Meda!

Happy Saturday! I made this card for Meda, who works for the Cuttlebug Challenge blog, helping to put the posts together with all of our projects. Her birthday is July 4, so the design team whipped up some cards for her, you can check them out here. I used my Sizzix cupcake die, then ran the top piece through my Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots embosisng folder.

Thanks for all your comments the last few days and the vacation well wishes! We made it as far as Wichita last night and are headed on to Kansas City this morning. I surprised dh and got tickets for the Royals game on Sunday, so he's super excited about that! We used to go a lot when we lived in KC as young newlyweds, MANY years ago! lol!

Laura's Sketch #29 & Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #11

Happy Friday! I stayed up way too late last night, fiddling around with this card when I should have been packing for vacation, yikes!

I had to squeeze in a card for Laura's Sketch #29, you know how I love the gang over at 2S4Y! Since time was of the essence, I multi-tasked and used Dawn's Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #11 too! I love Dawn's color challenges, they really push me outside my "normal comfort zone" and make me try new combos, so thank you, Dawn!

I started playing with some Crate Paper die cuts that were in one of my Jenni Bowlin kits, and I loved the little squirrel, but he was the wrong color. So I adhered some Razzleberry Lemonade paper to some plain chipboard for sturdiness, then traced the squirrel and cut him out. Voila! It was too late to think of something clever for the sentiment, so I had to fall back with the generic "hi." I've said it before, but I could tell a LOT of people "hi" with my cards! lol!

Okay, gotta dash! Have a super Friday! Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

Recipe
Cardstock: Going Gray, Basic Black, Razzleberry Lemonade dsp.
Accessories: Melon Mambo Polka Dot Ribbon, Black Hemp, Thickers, Crate Paper Glitter Die Cuts, Foof-a-La button, Cuttlebug, Swiss Dots Embossing Folder, Dimensionals.

Animal Stories: Let's Do Lunch!

Happy Thursday! Is everyone super excited the new Stampin' Up! catalog is available now?! You can check it out online, click the picture to the right. It is totally fabulous, and you are going to love it!!

For this card, I paired the new little owl from Animal Stories with the retired Canvas Cuts and Fashion District Rub-Ons. Isn't that "Let's Do Lunch!" adorable?! I was trying to stick with SU only products, but I had a scrap of that American Crafts wood grain paper laying on my desk, and how could I pass it up? It was too perfect! The SUPER GOOD news, though, the new SU catalog has a wood grain stamp! Yeeeeaaaaa!

Okay, gotta dash, ten million things to do before summer school is over tomorrow and we leave on vacation, yikes! I'm freaking out inside, just thinking about it...does that ever happen to you?!

Thanks so much for stopping by and for all your super sweet comments lately! Hugs and happy stamping!
