CAS-ual Friday Stamps: April Release Day 3!

Happy Thursday and welcome back to Day 3 of the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps April release!

Michele has created a beautiful new floral set called Mon Amie.
The flowers are so stylized and perfect for coloring, and they come with a great mix of sentiments and sentiment stems. Love, love, love these flowers! I used Copics to color the flower on the first card, above, and I used dye ink and an Aquapainter for the card below.
I snagged the uber cool sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch #120.

I hope you enjoyed these, but be sure to head over to the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps blog to see the amazing cards from the rest of the design team! Leave a comment there, too, because you may the lucky winner of a $25 shopping spree! I'll be back on Friday with Day 4 of the release and all the new sets will be available then! Yay!

CAS-ual Fridays Stamps: April Release Day 2!

Happy Day 2 of the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps April/May release!

We have 2 great new stamp sets and a new die set you are going to love!

One of my most FAVE is the new Sassy Smiles set on the card above!
I embossed that big "Smile" in black ink, watercolored around it, and threw in a few black ink splatters for good measure! Love, love, love big sentiments like that!

And what about that sweet, little heart floating above?
He's from the new Fun-Fetti Fri-Dies set.
Check out my post from yesterday to see the little bag of fetti goodness!

Our second new stamp set is called The Whole Shebang!
Don't you love that big HB2U?! And it has great sentiments to go with!
I sewed on a little fringed tissue paper (the new sets shipped in it--love how Michele always wraps the orders in fun tissue paper!) Doesn't it look festive?!

I hope you enjoyed these, but be sure to head over to the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps blog to see the amazing cards from the rest of the design team! Leave a comment there, too, because you may the lucky winner of a $25 shopping spree!

NEW CAS-ual Friday Stamps: Lovely!

Yay! It's time for a new CAS-ual Fridays Stamps release!

Best. Release. Ever.

Today, meet the new Lovely series!
It includes the new stamp set Lovely, Lovely Greetings, and Lovely Links Fri-Dies!

For my card above, I used the Lovely Links Fri-Dies as a mask and misted over it for a soft, dreamy feeling. The sentiment is from Lovely, and you'll learn more about the little goodies in the cello bag attached at the bottom soon! :)

For my second card, I misted the card base and let it dry, then sewed on some of the Lovely Links Fri-Dies. I heat embossed a sentiment from Lovely Greetings in silver on a transparency cut from the Bubble Box Fri-Dies. The white satin ribbons hopefully finishes off the "wedding" look I was trying to achieve.

I hope you enjoyed these, but be sure to head over to the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps blog to see the amazing cards from the rest of the design team! Leave a comment there, too, because you may the lucky winner of a $25 shopping spree!

CAS-ual Fridays Stamps: Twinkle & Stars!

Happy Friday!

I'm excited to be up today on the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps blog!

I had to play some more with the new Twinkle stamp set and the Stars Fri-Dies. Maybe all the STAAR testing this week for Texas influenced my decision?!

I used the great sketch below, Freshly Made Sketches #183, to create the congratulations card above, and a baby card, below. I paired it with sentiments from Woot Woot, one of my all-time favorites!

For the baby card below, I used the same sketch, same stamps and dies with the addition of the smile from Sunbeams, and played along with the Colour Me Challenge #68. I love how you can get such different looks! Can you sort of tell it's supposed to be a mommy and daddy star with baby star?! If not, just humor me, because some new family is getting this card! hehe!

Hope you enjoyed my Twinkle and Stars!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Hugs & happy stamping!

Happy Birthday, Cool Kid!

Happy Tuesday!

I got in a disagreement with dh earlier when I swore it was Wednesday.
I'm still mad at him for not letting me continue with the delusion...

I went to the stamp room earlier to work on a card for a deadline, and I got sidetracked with this cool little cat. The photo didn't turn out great, but he's embossed and I wish you could see how slick and shiny he really looks! lol!

I used the great sketch above from the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge #351
I used some of my hoarded washi tape...instead of my hoarded patterned paper, ha...for the side pieces. The ones I used are from Christmas sets, but you can't even tell, right?

Does Cool Kid make you think of the "Cool Kids" song? Were you a cool kid?! :)

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Hugs & happy stamping!

Queen Birdy and Poetry

Happy Sunday! Hope your weekend is going well!

A co-worker requested a birthday card with birds, so I whipped this one up Friday night.
I used the fabulous sketch from the Cardabilities #120 challenge. I used a hodgepode of supplies, always seeming to go for "blue" when I want a sweet card. I fixed the inside very prettily too, but forgot to take a picture, darn! lol!

On a non-stamping note, dh and I went to see Billy Collins and Aimee Mann last night for a "rare evening of poetry, acoustic music, and conversation about their art forms and creative process." It was really amazing! Aimee's music is very moving, like poetry. You might know some from the movie Magnolia.

What about you? Are you a poetry person? I remember it being tough in school and saying things like, "Why can't they just say what they mean?" All that "figuring it out" was tricky! In contrast, my husband was an English major and poetry enthusiast, and I fell for it pretty hard when he used it on me during our "courting" days! lol!

Anyway, Billy Collins is so wonderful with poetry...it's beautiful, yet comprehensible, surprising and funny, yet touching. That's my layperson description anyway. Here's a clip of him reading The Lanyard. Hope you enjoy!

Happy Birthday Dotty Bow Dots

Happy Tuesday night!

And it was a happy Monday night when I made this Stampin' Up! only card before bedtime, for no reason but fun! Yay! Im trying to sneak in some casual stamp time to keep me SANE! It's not easy this year! ;)

I've always loved Connie and Mary, so I played along with their sketch Challenge #349. And I just noticed how perfectly color coordinated my card is with the challenge graphic! hehe!

Do you have the new bow punch yet? Mine was back ordered and arrived the other day, yay! I have the big bow die, but this punch makes the cutest little bows! So many possibilities! The sentiment is from a Paper Pumpkin kit. I used the Decorative Dots embossing folder, and I'm not sure why the bottom of it didn't emboss, but I liked it anyway. :)

That's it for tonight! Thanks so much for stopping by!
Hugs and happy stamping!

Stamps: SU Paper Pumpkin sentiment
