Happy Graduation

Happy Sunday! Hope you are having a good weekend!

I needed to make some graduation cards for a coworker, so I jumped in first with this Retro Sketch #61. Isn't it a great sketch? I think I'll need to use it again. Thank goodness for my SRM Stickers, they came in super handy for these cards! She wanted something "glittery" for one card, so I used my Cuttlebug Tag Sale Alphabet die with some red glitter cardstock for the card above. The card below uses some Thickers that came in an old Scarlet Lime kit. Whoo! Hoo! Opening some old kits! hehe!

The card below is for her son, who is graduating from UNT. I was cruising through my Feedly on my iPad and saw this great Stars and Stripes card by Kathy Martin, so used it as my layout inspiration. Those toothpicks in the kitchen come in super handy! hehe! Thanks, Kathy! *smile*

Well, back to laundry and school prep. As we left school Friday we got some devastating news about a principal change effective immediately, so I've been sitting around stunned and mournful all weekend. I did drag myself to a kid's soccer game, and just keep reminding myself: it's about the children.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

Happy Birthday, Michele!

Woot! Woot! It's time for a Birthday Blog Hop for one Amazeballs woman, Michele Gros!

You probably know her better as the founder of the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge blog (where you probably saw from last week's challenge that her birthday was coming up this week!) and the founder and creator of CAS-ual Fridays Stamps

The Girl Fridays decided we needed to show her some extra birthday love today because we are so crazy about her! If you are following along the hop, you just came from Pamela's blog. That girl is crazy, artsy talented!

I loved the card I made for our birthday challenge, but thought I would kick it up a notch for Michele's "official" card. You've probably seen Julie's amazing tutorial for a new washi tape shaker card, or at least some cool cards made using the technique, so I gave it a go using the Amazeballs stamp set. Instead of using sequins for my shaker bits, I used the enamel dots from My Mind's Eye. I stuck a few down permanently so they'd line up under the stamped circles, but I left the rest "free" to be shaken. I dipped the enamel dots in clear embossing powder, then dusted them off, so they wouldn't be sticky on the back anymore.

Hope you enjoy the card and our blog hop for Michele! From here, you'll want to head on over to Leigh Ann's blog to check out her fantabulous birthday card! If you get lost along the way...or want to venture out on your own...here are the hop stops:

CAS-ual Fridays #98: All That Glitters

It's CAS-ual Fridays time!

I hope you'll play along with this week's CFC98: All That Glitters...
or as I like to call it...If You Liked It Then You Should've Put Some Bling On It!
Ummm, hmmm, don't make me start singing!

But seriously, your challenge is to create a CAS project with some glitter, Stickles, glittered ribbon, etc! Glitter it up! Walk out of the house with that glitter on your face and clothes proudly!

This week's winner will receive a $25 gift certificate from Simon Says Stamp, oh yeah!

It's a glittery miracle, but I actually have two cards to share! A coworker needed two cards this week, one for her son's wedding anniversary and one for her niece's confirmation. I didn't even really intend for these to be my challenge cards, but they both ended up with glitter on them somehow.
Sweet (glittery) serendipity!

For the first card, I used some silver glitter cardstock from Stampin' Up!, plus some paper and stickers from Amy Tangerine. I also added some washi tape banners where I folded the tape over on itself. For the card below, I used the bursting rays from the Shine On stamp set from Sweet Steph Designs for Market Street Stamps embossed with Heat & Stick powder, then Martha Stewart glitter, and the cross is a digital stamp from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps that I applied Stickles to. I definitely got plenty of glitter in there! *smile*

Head over to the CAS-ual Fridays blog to see the awesome cards from the rest of the Girl Fridays and to link up your projects! Can't wait to see what you create! Thanks so much for stopping by!
Hugs and happy stamping!

Birthday Wishes

Happy Tuesday! I'm back with another card for I made last night for The Play Date Cafe Challenge #176! See, I told you I loved these colors!

A lady at work asked me to make a card for her friend's birthday, and her friend loves birds. So this is what I whipped up. Not so CAS, but when I gave it to her this morning, she loved it. I did another sentiment on the inside with some washi tape, but forgot to take a picture of it. Oh, and see that striped die-cut frame? It's the leftover part from yesterday's card. I love it when that happens!

I left work at 12:30 with a mirgaine I had been fighting all morning and picked up my Imitrex refill. Ugh. Now it's the posthead fog. I think it's from this big storm that's coming in.  Can't believe Colorado and some states got more snow! I'm praying we don't actually get any hail or tornadoes tonight. Stay safe out there, just in case!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

Happy Birthday...vintage, stringy style

Happy Monday! This neutral color combination from The Play Date Cafe Challenge #176 may be my favorite ever, swoon! Now that I think about it, these are the colors in my house too! No wonder they appealed to me. ha! Their sponsor this week is Jenni Bowlin, another major swoon! The vintage card behind my striped tag is from her March papercrafting kit. I'm super bad about hoarding her kits, but I'm trying to do better. I also used this awesome, versatile sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch #22. Hope I didn't get it too "stringy" for CAS!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

More Chevrons & Flowers

Happy Sunday! Back with a few more cards that didn't quite make it to my CAS-ual Fridays CFC97: Chevrons & Flowers post below! For the card above, I had the little piece with the chevrons  and "Squeal" but I got stuck on adding a flower to it, so threw it in the scrap heap. Got it out today and worked on it some more! :)

Same for the card below. I had the flower and chevron piece...this is the one dh suggested getting rid of the chevrons...ouch! hehe! I got it out of the scrap heap and turned it into this:

This last card below, I actually did finish, and dh liked it, but I just wasn't convinced. Seemed kind of not special enough to me, but maybe I was just in one of my moods. You get those?! Please tell me you get those! hehe! The photo isn't very good, wish you could see the embossed clouds (from the Stampin' Up! spring mini catalog) better.

Okay, better dash. The laundry is not going to do itself apparently. Anyone watching Madmen tonight?! That will help with my zombie withdrawal! Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

CFC97: Chevrons & Flowers

It's CAS-ual Fridays time!

I hope you'll join us for CFC97: Chevrons & Flowers...use both design elements in  your CAS creations! I KNOW you have some flowers and chevrons in your collection! Who doesn't, right?!

I have almost TOO MANY flowers and chevrons in my collection, and I couldn't decide what do to! ha! This is like the 4th project I made, the one I was finally happy with and could stop! And I didn't ask dh because one of his earlier suggestions was, "Can you get rid of the chevrons? They're not working." Ummm, no, I can't! lol! A tag pulls out of the vellum envelope, and it holds a gift card attached with mini glue dots. Beauty and function! hehe!

Head on over to CAS-ual Fridays, check out the awesome cards from the other Girl Fridays,  and link up your creation! You might win a $25 gift certificate from this week's sponsor, Ellen Hutson

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!
