Spooky Week Day 1: Eat, Drink & Be Scary Treat Holder

Boo! I've seen so many great Halloween projects lately, I decided it was time to break out my new Halloween sets! I *tried* to control myself and only bought two new Halloween sets, both from the new Holiday Mini Catalog that goes into action October 1. This is the first set: Eat, Drink & Be Scary, a set of five for $18.95.

To make this little treat holder, I based it on the mini pizza box from the fabulous Jen Del Muro. At first I made it just like hers, then I had the idea to make it smaller to hold my most favorite treat in the world...the special holiday editions of Reese's peanut butter cups. Yummmmm!

I actually *guessed* at the size based on my experience with them (which is VAST!), then went to Walgreens later to buy (okay, two, I ate one!) and sure enough...it fit perfectly!! lol! I want to make these for stamp club this month, but it will be risky with buying that many treats. I'll have to go 15 minutes before club starts to buy them, so that I'm returning to my house at the exact same time the guests are arriving...otherwise the treats will never last!

I put the link to Jen's pizza box tutorial up above, but the size I modified it to is 5 1/2" x 8". (This way you also get 2 boxes per sheet of cardstock.) I scored the long way at 1", 3 1/2", 4 1/2", and 7". Then score the other sides at 1" and cut like Jen does. Let me know if you have any questions about that.

Okay, I better run and get busy with some more Spooky projects to show this week! I was in a fog yesterday, like a big lump, and did nothing but read 300+ blog posts from my Google Reader (I'm caught up now, ha!) so I decided this would be a great pressure to put on myself to get me moving! I'm not right, ya know, dh tells me that all the time! lol!

Hope you're having a great Sunday! Thanks so much for stopping by!

This is SO cute and I didn't buy this set but it is calling my name. Maybe it's because I just love Reese's Peanut Butter cups. It's one of the only chocolate treats I like. YUM! I'm going to have to try one of these this week. Thanks for the modified measurements.

Your level of willpower sounds just like mine! If I buy a bag of Halloween candy for the kids, I can't open it or it'll be gone in less than a day.

And those Reese's holiday things are WAY better than the regular kind. More peanut butter stuff! YUM.

Now I'm craving one, or two. Wonder if I can con someone into going to the store for me! Bwaa Haa Haa

What a fun little treat holder. Just perfect for when you need a little gifty item for someone.

As for your being a little off-that's part of your charm! LOL!

This is super cute, Angie! I may have to use this little box for treats, but I'm the same as you--I'll eat the pb cups before I can make all the boxes! :D

dang, girl! I've been behind on my reader too, and trying to stay away so you don't tempt me into buying any mini sets! I love your box - too funny about the candy! I am the opposite it will be there forever and DH will have his eaten all up & then I feel guilty I still have some & end up sharing with him!

Angie, too cute! I absolutely love the holiday peanut butter cups too. Thomas turned me on to them and now he has to hide his from me! I usually find them though; he needs to find some better hiding spots. I think this is a great idea for Stamp Club! Then I'll have one of these peanut butter cups to give to Thomas (if it makes it home that is).
