Happy Birthday

Happy Sunday!

Yesterday on Facebook, Jingle was looking for some card challenges, so she made this card (LOVE it!) for Cure for the Monday Blues #30. The inspiration photo was beautiful, so I had to play along. I used some of my October Afternoon 9 to 5 collection to along with the office setting and color. The background paper from Pebbles Front Porch mirrored the round decorations on the wall, and then, of course, there had to be some ink splatters since she's working in her office! :)

Hope you are having a great weekend!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

Paper Crafter's Library Feature!

Happy Wednesday!

I'm super excited to share that CAS-ual Fridays Stamps is the Featured Company over at Paper Crafter's Library today, and I got to make two fabulous projects to share! I really stressed and obsessed over them, but love the way they turned out. I hope you do, too!

I used two stamp sets, Wheat Wreath and Amber Waves, perfect for the new fall weather (hey, less than 90 degrees in Texas, yay!) and Thanksgiving holiday. You can see a little sneak peek of one of the cards above! :)

If you'd like a chance to win these two beautiful stamp sets, head over to Paper Crafter's Library and leave a comment! They'll announce the winner next Wednesday!

PP#214: Happy Birthday!

Happy Tuesday!

Popping in with a happy birthday card!

It's been awhile since I played along with the gals at the Paper Players, and I always need birthday cards and never have masculine ones, so it was perfect timing!
I really wanted that little guy with the cake that's on their graphic. So cute! :)
I finally inked up my new Stampin' Up! Birthday Surprise set! Yay!

**edited to add: I forgot I made another masculine card for the challenge:

Hope you're doing well! I've been buried in BOY (beginning of year) data at school, but started seeing my reading students last week, so that helped a lot! Love those kiddos! Below is a picture of my RTI classroom door if you didn't see it on Facebook. I drew a little sketch (to match my border from Mardel's) and a couple of awesome ladies at work created it for me.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

Happy Friday!

Welcome to Day #6, our final day of sneak peeks for the September release!

I hope you've loved all of the new sets and cards you've seen this week!
I've had a lot of fun making them! :)

Today's release is super fun because it's a new set of Fri-Dies! Yay!
Michele has created Hanukkah Fri-Dies to coordinate with the 8 Happy Nights stamp set!
The dies include a dreidl, a number 8, and a multi-pieced Star of David.

For my card, I used the dreidel die, and oh, how easily and perfectly it worked!
I used gold and red embossing on the different colors of card stock, love how it pops!

Be sure and head over to the blog to see the awe-inspiring ideas from the rest of the Girl Fridays and leave a comment to win some goodies for the week!

I can't wait to see what amazing projects you come up with using the September releases!

CAS-ual Fridays Stamps: September Release Sneak Peek #5

Happy  Thursday!

Welcome to Day #5 of the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps September release sneak peek!

Today is super exciting because we have a new stamp set Sleigh Bells and a coordinating Bell Tag Fri-Dies! Yay! There are two great bell shapes and lovely sentiments to go with them!

The minute I saw the bell die, I knew I wanted to make a shaker card! I stamped and embossed the bell in silver on the bottom of the shaker and then filled it with some pretty silver snowflakes. I found the perfect patterned paper after my design consultant (husband, hehe!) suggested I stick with traditional red or green. The shimmery silver card base really sets if off. I have a co-worker who loves glittery and sparkly and needs this card! :)

You know what's next, head over to the store blog and check out the amazing samples from the rest of the Girl Fridays here! Don't forget to leave a comment there for a chance to win some free goodies!

I'll be back tomorrow with the final day of sneak peeks for the September release!
Let's just say it's a good thing I got that card photographed quickly because Scout the dog decided to eat part of it for a snack! Bad dog! lol!

CAS-ual Fridays Stamps: September Release Sneak Peek #4

Howdy! Welcome to Day #4 of the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps September release sneak peeks!

I really hope you are enjoying all the new stamps so far! I sure have been! :)

Today's new set is called Pinecones, very fitting, right?!

I love how this set can work for fall and winter holidays with all the great sentiments (as always!) and the greenery stamps! It even has a fabulous, scripty rectangular stamp you see in the background part of my card on the left. I love anything scripty and text related!

For my card, I added the wooden texture, fussy cut the large greenery stamp, and flocked up the pinecones. Beware flocking, everything in the vicinity will become covered with light fuzz! lol!

My layout and colors for this card were based on The Challenge #14  at Always Playing With Paper which I happened to spot on Amy's blog. Aren't they perfect for a winter pinecone card? :)

Be sure and check out the amazing work of the other Girl Fridays using Pinecones and leave a comment there for a chance to win big!

Come back tomorrow, because I promise you are going to LOVE the sneak peek stamp set and matching die!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

CAS-ual Fridays Stamps: September Release Sneak Peek #3!

Welcome back to Day #3 of the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps September Release Sneak Peeks!

Today's release is the Must Love Snowflakes stamp set!
Isn't that a great name?!
I'm warning you now, this set has the BEST sentiments!

The "Dashing through the Snow!" sentiment totally inspired my card.
I imagined a modern day dashing...no sleighs...but busy roads with snow plows!
I guess that's what living in the city does to you! :)
My snowflakes are embossed with silver, although the top half looks gold. Go figure!

Here's one more!

Check out the amazing cards from the rest of the Girl Fridays here, they'll blow you away!

I'll be back tomorrow with Sneak Peek #4!

CAS-ual Fridays Stamps: September Sneak Peek #2

Happy Monday!

Welcome to day #2 of the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps September Release Sneak Peeks!

Today's set is called Snowflake Splendor and it's fabulous!

For my card, I used one of the "snowflake trees" and glittered it up!
I stamped the image in Versamark ink first, applied Heat & Stick Powder, heat embossed it to make it sticky, then sprinkled the glitter on and heat embossed it. I added a silver embossed star to the top, because every tree needs its star at the top! I wasn't sure what to do with my green rectangular panel at first, then decided to go with the angle placement. I love that Merry & Bright sentiment and the way it pops in green against the white.

Head over to the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps blog to see the amazing samples from the rest of the Girl Fridays and leave a comment there for a chance at this week's giveaway!

CAS-ual Fridays Stamps: September Sneak Peek #1

Happy Sunday! I'm so excited to share a sneak peek of the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps September release #1! Introducing: Wheat Wreath!

You will love this new set with beautiful sentiments to express gratitude as well as the fabulous wreath. For my first card, I went with the bold embossing on that pretty background paper. For the second card, I went with a softer, watercolor look. I smushed the orangey ink pads on a plastic sheet protector, sprayed the ink with a water mister, dipped the stamp in it, then stamped on the watercolor paper. After that dried, I repeated the process with the olive ink. Kristina Werner shared a video of the technique, love how easy and pretty it turns out.

Be sure and check out the amazing samples from the rest of the Girl Fridays here
They all created such different looks with this lovely new stamp set.

I'll be back tomorrow with sneak peek #2!
