Make a Wish!

Happy Sunday! Hope you are enjoying your weekend! We have been blessed to have some rain and cool weather in Dallas, so thankful!

I snuck away from work for awhile to make a quick birthday card! I can't stop using the Cakewalk products from October Afternoon! Maybe I need to go shopping again?! ha! I used Retro Sketches #29 fabulous sketch, so easy to work with, and I just flipped it on its side.

I'll be back tomorrow with my CAS-ual Fridays card, yay! I got to work with some yummy stamps from Neat and Tangled, and I am in love! :)

Thanks for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

Keep Calm Little Lady

Happy Thursday!

Isn't this a great sketch from Less Is More?!

I had some leftover hexagons from this card, so I hated for them to go to waste. Then I had been itching to use my new October Afternoon 9 to 5 stamps, love them in the red rubber cling mount! I added the Stampin' Up! "Keep Calm" and a little washi tape, and voila! I know a number of people who could use this card, but it's going to one friend in particular! *smile*

Stay cool, my friends! Thanks for stopping by!

Call Me

Happy Wednesday! How is your week going? Mine is going too quickly!

Here's a quick card for the Embellish Telephone Color Trends Challenge. I loved these soft colors! After a few searches through my stash for a telephone stamp, I had about given up when I found this die cut card from October Afternoon. Schwooo! Maybe I need to come up with a way to organize my stamps with photos in a binder or something, so I can page through them all to see them? Hmmmm, sounds pretty ambitious.

Okay, gotta dash, dh is on his way home and I should clean up the kitchen a little bit. Don't want him to think the only thing I did all day was make this card, which is what I did. haha!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

Oh Snap!

Happy Friday! Hope you're having a great day!

I loved the dramatic look of these colors for this week's challenge from The Play Date Cafe #137 so I started working on this card last night. I decided on the Amy Tan stickers right away (love! love!), but I got stuck on the blue part, so finished it up this morning. Thank goodness for that bag of scraps! *smile*

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

Happy Days!

Happy Sunday! Happy Father's Day! The "Happy Day" card can be customized inside with a greeting to celebrate whatever Happy Day it is you want to celebrate, right?!

I tried to step outside my comfort zone with purple tones for The Play Date Cafe Challenge #136, and for the second card, I also used the Unscripted Sketch #163. Unscripted Sketches also had a piggyback challenge to use vellum, so I plopped a little vellum embossed with the Chevron Embossing Folder in there.

This week's CAS-ual Friday challenge is to use clear acetate or vellum (my card will go up on Tuesday), so I happened to have some Hambly overlay scraps laying around (hint, hint!) and decided to use the scraps on these cards too. You might have heard Hambly was closing up shop, make me very sad, they always had cutting-edge products. I won a Moxie Fab prize of Hambly goodies once, now I'll really be hoarding it!

That's it for now, get out there and celebrate fathers, or any special men in your life who could be fathers!  Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

Recipe #1
Finished size: 4 1/4" x 4 1/4"
Stamps: Wacky Wishes (Stampin' Up! hostess set).
Ink: Early Espresso
Cardstock: Whisper White, Hambly overlay, Cosmo Cricket Joy Ride.
Accessories: SU Natural Designer Button, Linen Thread.

Recipe #2
Finished size: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Cardstock: Rich Razzleberry, Cosmo Cricket Upcycle, Hambly overlay, vellum.
Accessories: Big Shot, Chevron Embossing Folder, Cosmo Cricket Upcycle chipboard accent.

the GOOD life

Happy Tuesday! Or shall I say Trying Tuesday?! Ever have one of those days when most of your cards  end up in the trash can?! Argh!

This card for Playdate Cafe Color Challenge #133 and Loonie Stampers jar challenge was sort of completed when I posted on Facebook something like cardmaking today sucked and I was going to read a book. Then I looked back down at this card, tore off one sentiment and added some October Afternoon stickers, and voila, not in the trash can now! hahaha!

I'm not pushing my luck, though, off to the treadmill and book now! Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

Recipe
Cardstock: Stampin' Up! Whisper White and Dear Lizzy jar paper.
Accessories: October Afternoon stickers, 7 Gypsies tape.

15 Minute Crop Challenge!

Happy Sunday! Hope you're having a great day! I'm still recovering from my 14 hour crop yesterday, but I have managed to unpack and put everything away now, that's a big relief! I was with three great girls...one totally new and this was her first experience paper crafting, one recently new to papercrafting, and one occasional/recreational papercrafter...but boy, did we have some laughs! That's the important thing, right?!

If you follow me on Facebook, you saw this pic I posted of our table. Wowza, creativity is messy:

Before we packed up, I thought it only fair to spring one of my 15 minute challenges on them! hehe! My other cropping friends will tell you how much they love these! (NOT!) We each started with these materials below, only difference being the little Simple Stories Awesome image we picked, then I set the timer and we had 15 minutes to make our card! Fun, right?!

I think they turned out pretty awesome!!

Dinora (1st day ever making cards!):

Haley (started papercrafting this school year):

Jenni (on again/off again, recreational papercrafter, hehe):

And me (somewhat bossy, but thankfully they still put up with me, papercrafting tutor):

Did I mention we had fun?! *smile*

I'll be back tomorrow at 11 pm CST with my card for this week's CAS-ual Fridays challenge, Put a Bling On It! You still have lots of time to play and win a $25 gift certificate from Simon Says Stamp AND a guest design team spot for the July Guest Challenge!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

Tuesday Two Fer!: Happy Father's Day

Happy Tuesday! Two more days of school and a card made with these 2 challenges:

This is how I spent part of my holiday on Monday, the best part actually! hee! hee! I played along with the Retro Sketches #13 and the beautiful and patriotic inspirational photo challenge from The Play Date Cafe Challenge #133! I'm usually not organized enough to combine two challenges, so patting myself on the back here, ha!

This one's a little "busier" than some of my cards, but I pulled out  my scrap basket and went to town! I'll try to list the ingredients below, but it may be hit or miss on some. The one thing I love the most is how the Gina K Casual Fridays paper "aged" when I ran it through the Big Shot with the Cuttlebug Herringbone embossing folder. What yummy, aged texture! Hmmm, kind of like me! hee! hee!

Hope you're having a great Tuesday! Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

Recipe
Stamps: Stampin' Up! Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Stampin' Up! Basic Black marker.
Cardstock: Stampin' Up! Crumb Cake, bowling paper from some paper pad, red polka dot Daisy D (fairly sure), herringbone can't remember but it's nice and heavy!, and Gina K Casual Friday paper stack (blue denim).

Bitty Banners Framelits & Apothecary Accents Framelits (available June 1), Cuttlebug Herringbone embossing folder, Jenni Bowlin "play" sticker (adhered to chipboard), Cosmo Cricket letter stickers, misc button, Stampin' Up! linen thread, Corner Rounder, recycled ribbon from a gift (Thanks, Lor!).

PPA 135: hi!

Happy almost Friday and 3-day weekend!

I whipped this little card up last weekend at my retreat for the PPA 135 Sketch challenge. Such a fun, easy sketch, you should play along too! I used some very old Sassafrass Lass. Are they still in business? I don't think I've seen anything of theirs for awhile, hmmmm. My friend Lori gave me that  yummmmmy ribbon, and it came on the most incredible old spool. How lucky am I?!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

Recipe
Cardstock: Stampin' Up! Crumb Cake and Newsprint DSP; October Afternoon striped paper.
Accessories: Thickers letters, Sassafrass Lass die cut sticker, green ribbon from Sundance catalog.

Good Times

Happy Sunday! What are you up to this weekend?

I made this little card for the CR84FN Challenge #53. Aren't those colors soft and yummy? Lots of October Afternoon on this one, plus a retired Stampin' Up! little cream flower and lots of very old Prima flowers, pretty proud of myself for using up some of those! :)

Bless Your Little Heart

Happy Wednesday! Hope your week is going well! We have state tests this week, so I've spent the last couple of nights trying to make this card, and it's been close to getting thrown out the window! Ever feel like that?!

I loved the image for the Embellish Chevron Color Challenge, so I thought I'd give it a go. Only trouble, I don't have any chevron stamps or any chevron paper in those colors. I tried white pigment ink over other color chevron paper, ummm, yeah, it doesn't work. Anyway, I decided to just stitch some chevrons. They still sort of look like chevrons, right? Then the 2nd night of the card was spent trying to get these colors, which I love, to work. It would NOT come together. I decided to use a Cameo girl for the Paper Crafts Silhouette challenge, and well, I'll spare you all my ramblings with the twists and turns this decision created! *wink*

Now, it's late and past dinnertime, so excuse me while I go eat and watch New Girl on the dvr and try to shake off this card stress! :)

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

Unscripted Sketches #155

Happy Sunday! The Google blog composition window seems to have changed, so I'm not sure what I'm doing, ha! Here we go, having to learn something new! ;)

I've had a pretty lazy Sunday but took a few minutes to play along with the Unscripted Sketches #155 challenge. There's a piggyback so that in addition to the sketch, they challenge you to use something recycled on your card in honor of Earth Day. I used a 7 Gyspies business card that came in a package they sent me one time when I won some blog candy from them. Isn't that old-timey image awesome?! I saved it knowing I would want to use it for something one day.

Well, off to get some "inspirational" treats ready for the 3rd graders who are taking their first ever state STAAR test this week. I'm a little bit terrified for them, but will put on a brave, happy face. I'll get a picture of the treats posted later this week. It's an idea tweaked from Pinterest, of course! :)

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

Clean & Simple FTL #185: Inspire

Happy Saturday! Busy day with Saturday school and then prepping for next week, but things are looking good for spending some time with hubby this evening and tomorrow! What a treat! :)

I made this teachery card last weekend for the Clean and Simple FTL#185. It all started around a scrap piece of patterned paper on my desk, but then when it was time to glue all the elements together, I didn't like that piece and it got replaced with the polka dot paper you see above. Does that ever happen to you?! It ended up being pretty "matchy" with all the paper coming from the Kraft Fun Day pad from My Mind's Eye, but oh my, it is a deliciously krafty stack of paper! LOVE it!

I hope you are enjoying your weekend! Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

CAS-ual Fridays #46: Name That Tune

Happy Sunday! Hope you are enjoying your weekend! Can't believe how warm it's been! We had a very successful Super Science Saturday yesterday at school, but today I've been a bit lazy! :)

Here's a quick card for the Cas-ual Fridays #46 Name That Tune challenge. Can you guess what the song inspiration is for my card? Yup, abc by the Jackson Five. I always end up needing "schooly" cards, so it seemed perfect!

Enjoy your day! Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

Clean & Simple FTL #183: Celebrate

Happy Wednesday! Hope your week is going well! I just survived two days of STAAR testing...I'm not sure who is more exhausted, the teachers or the students! I have to give a make up test to a student tomorrow, so one more day to go...

Here's a sweet birthday card I made for my sweet nephew who turned 16 last week. Impossible to believe he can be growing up so quickly, sniff sniff. I used the Clean and Simple FTL #183 sketch and it came together in a jiffy. Too bad it didn't get mailed out "in a jiffy" because it was late, oops. Bad aunt!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

Pals Paper Arts #131

Happy Friday! I'm back with another card! While visiting Linda's blog, I also saw this Pals Paper Arts Sketch 131, so thought I'd give it a try too! Super easy and fun sketch! Since I'd made a few Mother's Day cards, thought it was time for a Father's Day card. Masculine cards are always the hardest, right?!

I'm off to the eye doctor's office here shortly. Trying to finish up all those "Spring Break" errands, this is the last one, schwooo! I did get 5 scrapbook pages down last night too, whoo hoo! That's unheard of for me! Usually I agonize for hours over a page, and I just slapped those photos down with no plan and went with it! And you can probably tell by looking! ha! ha!

Enjoy your Friday! Hugs and happy stamping!

Play Date Cafe Challenge #122

Happy Tuesday! Very happy indeed, since I'm on Spring Break and got to spend the day crafting with friends! I only made 2 cards, but I'm calling it a great and successful day! :)

I found this Play Date Cafe Challenge #122 and had to play along before the deadline. Aren't the colors so fabby?! I used mostly goodies from October Afternoon. It's hard to see behind the tulle ribbon, but it says "mom", so I thought this would make a good Mother's Day card. Maybe I'll be ahead for once in my life!

Hope you're having a great week! Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!
