CAS-ual Fridays Stamps: May Sneak Peek #4

Welcome back to Day 4 of the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps May Sneak Peek week!

Today Michele has a super special new stamp set called Sunbeams!
You are going to love all the "sunshine" sentiments to play with, sentiments I've never seen in stamps before!

Of course, for my first card above, what do I do? Make a gray, raining card! ha!
But I just couldn't resist painting one of my little wooden umbrella embellishments black and using that awesome "raindrop" stamp. I embossed the rain drops with clear embossing powder. I painted the umbrella with black acrylic paint, then used black embossing powder over it to create the shiny, wet look. But my next cards are brighter! :)

For the card above, I stamped the "half-sun with rays" stamp and layered a fun tag over it. One of my favorite stamps from this set is that little smiley face! Maybe it's the teacher in me, but I LOVE smiley faces. I still draw them on students' papers, even 5th graders, and they love it! I stamped the one above on cardstock then used a 3/4" circle punch to punch it out.

For my last card above, I used the sun image again but I tried for a "watercolor" look. I inked up the stamp with my regular dye ink (SU Daffodil Delight), then sprayed a bunch of water from a mister on it. It kind of beaded and pooled up, then I stamped it on the plain white cardstock. That's a pretty good attempt at watercolor for me! ha! I like the way it turned out though. :)

Go check out the rest of the Sunbeams samples from the rest of the Girl Fridays over at the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps blog. You will be wowed by their creativity! All the new stamp sets will be available for purchase on Thursday! Yay!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

CAS-ual Fridays Stamps: May Sneak Peek #3

Welcome back to day 3 of the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps May Release sneak peeks!

I am so excited about today's release, I can't tell you!
We have a new stamp set called In the Cards and a coordinating Fri-Die called Shuffle!
I had more ideas for these items than I had time to create, so you will be seeing more in the near future!

For my card above, I used the Shuffle Fri-Die. It comes with the four suits and a rectangle with rounded edges, like a playing card. So I used the "diamond" die and then used some circle punches to make my ring. Does the card color remind you of Tiffany's? That's what I was going for! A girl can dream, right?!

My bright green card, above, I used the rectangular die on the card front, leaving it open, and used it again on white cardstock to make a "deck" of cards. Can you kind of tell how the white cards are standing up, poking through the window?

I went thrifty and used white cardstock for the top card, but then used white copy paper for the rest of the deck. I stamped about 6 or 7 of the cards, then left the rest plain white, and glued them all together, except the top 1/4" so then you can "shuffle" them.

For my last card, above, I did some old-fashioned masking to make the Ace cards. This one was actually super simple, sometimes you forget those basic techniques, ya know?

I hope you are excited about this new set and Fri-Die, too! Head over to the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps blog to see all the images and die up close! The rest of the Girl Fridays have amazing samples to share, too, I know you'll love them!

Come back for one more sneak peek tomorrow!

CAS-ual Fridays Stamps: May Release Sneak Peek #2

Welcome back to day 2 of the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps May Release sneak peeks!

If you loved the *musical* goodness from yesterday's post, you are going to love today's release too! We have a new stamp set called Heart Beats and a coordinating Fri-Die called Double Note! Michele outdid herself with more great sentiments, and you don't have to be musically inclined or gifted (like tone deaf me!) to enjoy these sets!

For my first card, above, I used a yummy silver glitter cardstock for the Double Note and paired it with the Heart Board Fri-Die. They just work so well together! I embossed the sentiment in clear embossing powder to make it stand out a little, but it's hard to see in the photo.

Here's card #2:

For this card, I used red glitter cardstock (can you tell I love that stuff?!) for my Double Notes, then I used two of the sentiments and curved them on the block to fit around my *doodle* stitching.   I love the way you can curve your clear stamps like that, it gives you even more flexibility with your stamps!

Be sure and head over to the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps blog now to see the stamp set in its entirety as well as the amazing creations from the rest of the design team! They will knock your socks off!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

CAS-ual Fridays Stamps: May Sneak Peek #1

Happy May Sneak Peek Week for CAS-ual Fridays Stamps!

I am super excited to show you what Michele has came up with this month!

Today's new stamp set is called "Big Treble" and it comes with a coordinating Fri-Die!
There are so many great sentiments and possibilities!

For the card below, I paired the new stamps with the Heart Board Fri-Dies
I love how they all work so well together! Can you see the treble clef stamp inked on the green watercolor paper on the background? I used post-it tape to help cover part of the sentiment, so I could omit it and stamp it inside the card.

I played along with Poppy Sketches #3 for this one!

For my last card, I used one of the Big Treble sentiments along with the die, and I added a little wooden heart to the die. Yes, this card was going to be for the Poppy Sketches challenge originally, and I meant to flick the brown ink splatters in the shape of those two lines. You see how well that turned out! haha! Hard to control the ink flicking! :)

I hope you enjoyed this little sneak peek!

Be sure and head over to the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps blog
