Kristina's Color Inspiration #25

Happy Friday! Yay!! I had a busy Thursday night but wanted to give Kristina's Color Inspiration #25 a go, I love these colors bigtime! I didn't start trying until 10 p.m. while watching the new vampire show, True Blood, on HBO, so that was an hour of no stamping! That show is different...Shannon said it best when she described it as a trainwreck, so shocking you can't look away! So anyway, I finally got started at 11 p.m., yikes! But I have the weekend to recover, right?!

The card size is 5 1/4" square...it's one I pulled out that was already cut and ready to go. I started making a "schoolish" card with my new Contempo Alphabet, but I abandoned that for Mr. Twigster, I was missing him! I had that piece of Certainly Celery ribbon already cut, and it wasn't quite long enough to tie into a bow, so I folded it over and secured it with a Ruby Red brad. It's something I never would have thought of, but ended up liking it. Sometimes necessity really is the mother of invention!

So lastly, since I was mentioning vampires earlier, here's my favorite recent conversation with a 3rd grade boy:

Student: "Ms. Tieman, are you a vampire?"

Me: "Do I look like a vampire?"

Student: "Yeah. You always wear black. Like right now...a black dress, a black watch, black make-up." He looks under the desk. "Even black shoes!"

Me: "No, I'm not a vampire. Black is just easy and matches everything." (I wasn't going to go into the whole "black is slimming" conversation. I try to be careful about body image because I already hear tiny 3rd grade girls saying they're fat and it breaks my heart.)

15 minutes later...after working on math problems...

Student: "So how much blood can you drink?"

Ahhh, funny kids. But "black make-up"?! What? I hope he meant my brown-black mascara and eye-liner and not the big dark circles under my eyes! lol!

Thanks so much for stopping by and for the birthday wishes for my mom. I told her and she was so touched! Have a great Friday!
