Clean & Simple FTL #185: Inspire

Happy Saturday! Busy day with Saturday school and then prepping for next week, but things are looking good for spending some time with hubby this evening and tomorrow! What a treat! :)

I made this teachery card last weekend for the Clean and Simple FTL#185. It all started around a scrap piece of patterned paper on my desk, but then when it was time to glue all the elements together, I didn't like that piece and it got replaced with the polka dot paper you see above. Does that ever happen to you?! It ended up being pretty "matchy" with all the paper coming from the Kraft Fun Day pad from My Mind's Eye, but oh my, it is a deliciously krafty stack of paper! LOVE it!

I hope you are enjoying your weekend! Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

Who loves Cas-ual Fridays?!

I do! And I'm super exicted to announce that I'm now a Girl Friday for the Cas-ual Fridays Challenge Blog! I have loved Michelle's clean and simple challenge blog every since it started last year, and she has some exciting new things in store for us all in the next few weeks! I'll be part of a special Facebook team designed to bring more inspiration all week! Head over to Cas-ual Fridays to see the rest of the designers on the team...super talented ladies that I'm sure you know well!

Here's a quick scrapbook share (I know, rare for me, but I'm trying!) of my darling nephew Logan. He recently turned two, so I'm trying to catch up with my scrapping. He is cute beyond belief, and I'm sure I'm not prejudiced at all! :)

Thanks so much for stopping by and sharing my exciting news! Hugs and happy stamping!

CAS-ual Fridays #46: Let the Hunt Begin

Happy Tuesday! Here's a quick share that should have went up on Easter Sunday, but it was raining in Dallas so I couldn't get outside to take a photo! I know, I know, it's time to break down and get a light tent thingy! :)

I played along with the fabulous Cas-ual Fridays #46 challenge to make a card using something that would be found in an Easter basket. There are some beautiful samples over there, go check them out!! I pulled out this retired SU set, An Egg-cellent Easter, one of my all-time springy favorites! I kind of wish I hadn't stitched around the bottom in brown thread, it looked better in my head! Ha! I do like my handmade grass though, I'm usually too much of a chicken to do anything "freehand"!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

Freshly Made Sketches #29: You Inspire Me

Happy Saturday! Hope you are enjoying your Easter weekend!

I fiddled around a little bit in the stamp room this afternoon playing with my new Summer Smooches goodies and the Freshly Made Sketch #29. To make the flower, I just cut a strip of paper and folded randomly, gathering into a circle, then stitching the button through all the layers. Working with brights is a challenge for me sometimes, so still not sure about this! ha!

Off to see a movie with friends, Salmon Fishing in the Yemen. I do love some Ewan McGregor! *smile*

CAS-ual Fridays #46: Name That Tune

Happy Sunday! Hope you are enjoying your weekend! Can't believe how warm it's been! We had a very successful Super Science Saturday yesterday at school, but today I've been a bit lazy! :)

Here's a quick card for the Cas-ual Fridays #46 Name That Tune challenge. Can you guess what the song inspiration is for my card? Yup, abc by the Jackson Five. I always end up needing "schooly" cards, so it seemed perfect!

Enjoy your day! Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

Clean & Simple FTL #183: Celebrate

Happy Wednesday! Hope your week is going well! I just survived two days of STAAR testing...I'm not sure who is more exhausted, the teachers or the students! I have to give a make up test to a student tomorrow, so one more day to go...

Here's a sweet birthday card I made for my sweet nephew who turned 16 last week. Impossible to believe he can be growing up so quickly, sniff sniff. I used the Clean and Simple FTL #183 sketch and it came together in a jiffy. Too bad it didn't get mailed out "in a jiffy" because it was late, oops. Bad aunt!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

Recipe
Cardstock: SU Crumb Cake, Basic Black and Cherry Cobbler; Jenny Bowlin patterned paper.
Accessories: Big Shot, PTI die cut, SU star punch, Jenny Bowlin flag sticker, 7 Gypsies tape, Diction "celebrate" sticker by Authentique.

Ooooh...a 3D item!

Happy Monday! Hope you had a great day! My first day back from Spring Break wasn't as *hard* as I expected, lol! The kids always make it worth the while! :) However, I would NOT recommend seeing We Need to Talk About Kevin on your last day of break before returning back to school! Yikes! I went with some friends last night, and yes, the movie is good and very well made, but VERY disturbing. But, on to happier topics...

I mentioned I was having my Christmas gift exchange with my girlfriends last night (it was SO worth the wait!), so I thought I'd share one of the gifts I made my friend Lori. I started out with a purchased "L" monogram hanging from Michaels, then I jazzed it up! See the original state below:

These friends go all out on their packaging and wrapping, and I'm always a "throw the gifts in a gift bag" kind of girl, so I thought I would surprise them with some fancy wrapping! ha! Here's how it looked wrapped on the package:

Okaysies, I'd better skedaddle and get back to some school work. Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

Lucky

Happy Saturday and Happy St. Patrick's Day! Just realized I never had on green today, oops! I think I'm part Irish too! Surely with red hair, right?! And I love that Lord of the Dance stufff...

I thought I should make something for the holiday, but knew I would never mail a Happy St. Patrick's Day card (come on, I haven't even mailed Christmas cards for the last 3 years, ugh!) so I came up with this card using the Little Red Wagon's challenge using the word "luck" and the Clean and Simple FTL #180.

Do you see the little tag and twine peeking out from the inside? I made a little pocket so the rest of the sentiment can be pulled out on the little tag. (Wow, I've noticed when writing my last few blog posts, I use the word "little" way TOO much!). Anyway, it looks like this:

Have a super fun evening, and if you're out drinking green beer, be careful! Hugs and happy stamping!

Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Sweet Shop DSP
Ink: Lucky Limeade
Accessories: Lucky Limeade ribbon & baker's twine, Modern Label Punch, In Color Printed Brads, Scallop Edge Border Punch, 1/16" Circle Punch, Etsy crocheted flowers.

Pals Paper Arts #131

Happy Friday! I'm back with another card! While visiting Linda's blog, I also saw this Pals Paper Arts Sketch 131, so thought I'd give it a try too! Super easy and fun sketch! Since I'd made a few Mother's Day cards, thought it was time for a Father's Day card. Masculine cards are always the hardest, right?!

I'm off to the eye doctor's office here shortly. Trying to finish up all those "Spring Break" errands, this is the last one, schwooo! I did get 5 scrapbook pages down last night too, whoo hoo! That's unheard of for me! Usually I agonize for hours over a page, and I just slapped those photos down with no plan and went with it! And you can probably tell by looking! ha! ha!

Enjoy your Friday! Hugs and happy stamping!
