How fun and creative, right?! I know you'll do better than me, because I almost ran out of cardstock with rejects before settling on using the mason jar from Jenni Bowlin, ha! I wanted to fill the jars with zombie heads (Walking Dead, Governor, get it?), but alas, I was fresh out of zombie head stamps, so I went with Michele's great sentiment from the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps set Breathe.

Runway Inspired Challenge #30

Happy Wednesday!

Here's a quick card I made for the Runway Inspiration Challenge #30. I think this is my first time to play along with this one. Usually those artsy, fashion photos scare the bejesus out of me! ha! This card isn't exactly my dream card, but I refused to give up!

Hope you're having a good week! Tomorrow is my formal observation at school, eeek! Nothing more stressful than having two people sit and watch everything you say and do with students for 30 minutes, and in a teeny, tiny room, no less! hehe! Wish me luck! :)

I used the new single stamp Spec-Tacular from Stampin' Up. Have you seen the single stamps? There are some seriously cute ones! The sentiment is from Good Times from Mama Elephant, a great sentiment set.

CFC#91: Hi Ho Silver!

It's CAS-ual Fridays time!

I hope you join us for this week's challenge, CFC#91: Hi Ho Silver!

Create a CAS project using a touch of silver!

I immediately decided to use a technique that I haven't for some time.

I'm not even sure of the name of it, but basically you heat emboss with silver embossing powder repeatedly over the same space (I did 5 times), then you stamp your main image into it. The silver embossing powder is thick and soft, so the image goes right into it. I used a Jenni Bowlin feather stamp that was in her kit last month. Then I added that great sentiment and swoosh from one of my favorite CAS-ual Fridays Stamps set, Breathe.

So...for my card...I added some SU Gumball Green, love how bright and fun it is with the black and white, and I used parts of 2 new CFS stamp sets...the polka dots from Only You and the sentiment from Breathe. I stamped...again...on tissue paper, two rows of the polka dots on about a 10" strip, then brought the ends together and scrunched it up to make a flower. I don't know about you, but I never get tired of polka dots! I kind of wish now I had just made some different size tissue flowers and not added the other stuff...maybe I'll try that for version two! *wink*

For the card above I went bold and bright while 

below I went more neutral with embossed white on kraft cardstock.

For an accent piece, I stamped the beanstalk on white tissue paper, 

then wrapped it around a small wooden dowel, 

cut it down in size, and glued it to the ribbon.

Well, mine sucks compared to hers, but I decided to go ahead and share it anyway since I'd spent two hours on it! haha! Maybe it's because I was watching two episodes of The Following and serial killers and cardmaking don't go together. But man, Kevin Bacon looks good!
