Happy Day 3 of the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Holiday Release!

Are you feeling the holiday spirit?

Today we have the Lovely Snowflake stamp set and the Noel Fri-Dies.

Don't you love giant snowflakes?! At least on cards?! :)

And, a word die set for the holidays! Yippee! Skippee!

The Noel Fri-Dies has three sentiments: Merry Christmas, Joyeux Noel, and Blessings. You might have noticed the "Blessings" sentiment on my Autumn Blessings cards on Tuesday. I love the sentiment dies!

For my first card above, I added a little more "stuff"! I embossed the snowflake in red on kraft cardstock and blue patterned paper, then lined them up together. I used the negative part of the "Joyeux Noel" to make a little banner. For my second card, I kept it CAS with a watercolor background and silver embossing with vellum. So easy!

CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Holiday Release Day #1!

Happy October Release Week for CAS-ual Fridays Stamps!!!

It's been awhile since a new release, and it was worth the wait!

Today showcases the new Autumn Blessings stamp set and Acorn Fri-Dies.

What a fun set of fall leaves and sentiments along with the fantastic acorn!

On my card above, I die cut the acorn in some cool copper metal!

There might also be a couple of sneak peeks of things coming later in the week, shhhh!

For my second card, I inked up the leaf with some rust ink, then sprayed it with some water, and stamped on watercolor paper. I did a little masking in there, too. I love the little dot in the set, and here I inked it up with some gold pigment ink to mimic the falling leaves. At least that's what I was going for! hahaha!

Sympathy cards are the toughest ones to make, and some tears were shed during this one. I think we all hate when our friends are going through this kind of pain, and there's so little we can do to help. :(

Stampin' Up!: Celebrate

Happy Saturday! 

I'm popping in with a birthday card I made for a special friend last week!

I actually put it in the mail, a miracle!!

I used the CAS(E) this Sketch #137, which has long since expired! lol!

I got out one of retired Stampin' Up! sets, Growing Green, which hasn't been played with much, ahem, if at all! The card base is Lost Lagoon, one of last year's new In Colors. I'm always a sucker for a blue shade! Then I jazzed it up with some sequins (2013-2015 In Color Sequin Assortment, now on clearance for $1.99!) and one of the new wood veneer sentiments color washed in pink.

CAS-ual Fridays & CAS-ual Chic Challenges: Musical!

Ready for a new challenge?!

Today we have the new CAS-ual Fridays and CAS-ual Chic Challenge!

September is Classical Music Month, so create a project celebrating music!

For my projects this month, I decided to switch things up from my usual white cardstock to Kraft cardstock with brights! I came across some fun color combos (below) that inspired me,  and I chose "Bollywood" on the bottom left. I embossed the musical line from Love Notes, then used a blender tool to rub in some red ink. I added little musical banners punched from Love Notes stamped on bright colors. The finishing touch, silver glittery cardstock hearts die cut from Fun-Fetti Fri-Dies. The sentiment is also from Love Notes. I heart this one! :)

Next up...my CAS-ual Chic Challenge musical card with utterly adorable layers...

I stuck with my same Kraft cardstock and bright color scheme, Bollywood. I stamped the same musical line from Love Notes on the bright colors and attached them kind of crooked and wonky. But, whew, they were BRIGHT! It was a LOT of color for me, lol! I toned it down by painting over it with some shimmery paint. Sigh, better!

I started piling on some embellishments, including the Treble Clef Fri-Die cut from thin metal and the Fun-Fetti Fri-Dies again. The sentiment is from the coordinating Big Treble stamp set. This card was definitely outside my comfort zone and after fighting with it for hours (it seemed like it!), I went to bed hating it! But now that I see it again, I think maybe it doesn't totally suck. lol! Does that ever happen to you?!

I started this card for the Reverse Confetti #27 challenge about two weeks ago...

I finally finished it last night...after a 3 hour nap...after the 1st day of school! 

I used the Party Hats stamp set & matching Confetti Cuts, 

as well as the Woodgrain Confetti Cuts. Cute stuff!! 

The paper is from the Studio Calico Baxter collection.

I'm afraid I have slept a LOT today. 

Three days back to work and it's a hard adjustment! hahaha!

I'm sharing a card I made this week for a special vice principal at school who got promoted to principal at another campus. I'll miss her terribly, but she is awesome and deserves this, so I'm happy for her!

Isn't this sketch great? So much you can do with it.

Keep it clean and simple or pile on some layers.

I used paper, stamps, and accessories from my Studio Calico card kit stash.

The recipient loves color, so I went for it!
