CAS-ual Fridays Stamps: May Sneak Peek #4

Welcome back to Day 4 of the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps May Sneak Peek week!

Today Michele has a super special new stamp set called Sunbeams!
You are going to love all the "sunshine" sentiments to play with, sentiments I've never seen in stamps before!

Of course, for my first card above, what do I do? Make a gray, raining card! ha!
But I just couldn't resist painting one of my little wooden umbrella embellishments black and using that awesome "raindrop" stamp. I embossed the rain drops with clear embossing powder. I painted the umbrella with black acrylic paint, then used black embossing powder over it to create the shiny, wet look. But my next cards are brighter! :)

For the card above, I stamped the "half-sun with rays" stamp and layered a fun tag over it. One of my favorite stamps from this set is that little smiley face! Maybe it's the teacher in me, but I LOVE smiley faces. I still draw them on students' papers, even 5th graders, and they love it! I stamped the one above on cardstock then used a 3/4" circle punch to punch it out.

For my last card above, I used the sun image again but I tried for a "watercolor" look. I inked up the stamp with my regular dye ink (SU Daffodil Delight), then sprayed a bunch of water from a mister on it. It kind of beaded and pooled up, then I stamped it on the plain white cardstock. That's a pretty good attempt at watercolor for me! ha! I like the way it turned out though. :)

Go check out the rest of the Sunbeams samples from the rest of the Girl Fridays over at the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps blog. You will be wowed by their creativity! All the new stamp sets will be available for purchase on Thursday! Yay!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

CAS-ual Fridays Stamps: May Sneak Peek #3

Welcome back to day 3 of the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps May Release sneak peeks!

I am so excited about today's release, I can't tell you!
We have a new stamp set called In the Cards and a coordinating Fri-Die called Shuffle!
I had more ideas for these items than I had time to create, so you will be seeing more in the near future!

For my card above, I used the Shuffle Fri-Die. It comes with the four suits and a rectangle with rounded edges, like a playing card. So I used the "diamond" die and then used some circle punches to make my ring. Does the card color remind you of Tiffany's? That's what I was going for! A girl can dream, right?!

My bright green card, above, I used the rectangular die on the card front, leaving it open, and used it again on white cardstock to make a "deck" of cards. Can you kind of tell how the white cards are standing up, poking through the window?

I went thrifty and used white cardstock for the top card, but then used white copy paper for the rest of the deck. I stamped about 6 or 7 of the cards, then left the rest plain white, and glued them all together, except the top 1/4" so then you can "shuffle" them.

For my last card, above, I did some old-fashioned masking to make the Ace cards. This one was actually super simple, sometimes you forget those basic techniques, ya know?

I hope you are excited about this new set and Fri-Die, too! Head over to the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps blog to see all the images and die up close! The rest of the Girl Fridays have amazing samples to share, too, I know you'll love them!

Come back for one more sneak peek tomorrow!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
Hugs and happy stamping!

CAS-ual Fridays Stamps: May Release Sneak Peek #2

Welcome back to day 2 of the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps May Release sneak peeks!

If you loved the *musical* goodness from yesterday's post, you are going to love today's release too! We have a new stamp set called Heart Beats and a coordinating Fri-Die called Double Note! Michele outdid herself with more great sentiments, and you don't have to be musically inclined or gifted (like tone deaf me!) to enjoy these sets!

For my first card, above, I used a yummy silver glitter cardstock for the Double Note and paired it with the Heart Board Fri-Die. They just work so well together! I embossed the sentiment in clear embossing powder to make it stand out a little, but it's hard to see in the photo.

Here's card #2:

For this card, I used red glitter cardstock (can you tell I love that stuff?!) for my Double Notes, then I used two of the sentiments and curved them on the block to fit around my *doodle* stitching.   I love the way you can curve your clear stamps like that, it gives you even more flexibility with your stamps!

Be sure and head over to the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps blog now to see the stamp set in its entirety as well as the amazing creations from the rest of the design team! They will knock your socks off!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

CAS-ual Fridays Stamps: May Sneak Peek #1

Happy May Sneak Peek Week for CAS-ual Fridays Stamps!

I am super excited to show you what Michele has came up with this month!

Today's new stamp set is called "Big Treble" and it comes with a coordinating Fri-Die!
There are so many great sentiments and possibilities!

For the card below, I paired the new stamps with the Heart Board Fri-Dies
I love how they all work so well together! Can you see the treble clef stamp inked on the green watercolor paper on the background? I used post-it tape to help cover part of the sentiment, so I could omit it and stamp it inside the card.

I played along with Poppy Sketches #3 for this one!

For my last card, I used one of the Big Treble sentiments along with the die, and I added a little wooden heart to the die. Yes, this card was going to be for the Poppy Sketches challenge originally, and I meant to flick the brown ink splatters in the shape of those two lines. You see how well that turned out! haha! Hard to control the ink flicking! :)

I hope you enjoyed this little sneak peek!

Be sure and head over to the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps blog

Good Dog!

Happy Sunday! Hope you are enjoying your weekend! Seems like we people of Dallas are being plagued by allergy/sinus junk, so I hope you are faring better in your area!

Here's a I whipped up for a sick little dog belonging to one of my friends. It's no fun seeing anyone sick, man or beast. :( But I hear she's on the mend now, yay!

I played along with Cure for the Monday Blues #14. I loved the colors and graphic look of this challenge! I got a special Studio Calico doggy kit awhile back, cutest dog stamps and sentiments ever.

I hope you have a great week! Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

Watercolor Thank You

Happy Thursday! Hope you're having a good week! Anyone else glad tomorrow is Friday?!

A coworker needed a thank you card, so I whipped this up last night...after I had an hour nap, mind you! I saw Lesley's Challenge sketch while visiting Amy's blog and found it super easy to work with. The awesome "pre-made" watercolor paper and wooden "thank you" came from my March Paper Pumpkin kit from Stampin' Up! I finally found a way to do watercoloring successfully: buy it already done! :)

Do any of you take the SU Paper Pumpkin kit? March was my first month, besides the introductory kit, and I thought it was pretty cool. I don't like to make a bunch of cards alike, so I'm finding different ways to use the pieces. I do like how you can cut the premade 3 1/2" x 5" cards into two pieces. I'll have to show you how I used the little envelopes tomorrow! ;)

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

Celebrate

Happy Tuesday!

I'm going crazy with a weekday post here! hehe!

I was flipping through challenge sites last evening and found this week's CAS(E) this Sketch #72 which was perfect for some little silver glitter squares I had saved from this green card when I used the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Linked Fri-die. Sometimes SAS...Save All Scraps...pays off, see?! :)

Okay, off to bed. It's been quite a night...when I let the dog in the back door after work, he ran in full speed and deposited a dead squirrel onto the sofa. Yuck! I ran screaming the other direction, back outside, which was probably risky because I bet the other squirrels were quite p. o.'ed about it! I've seen a squirrel stand on two feet and look into the back glass door, taunting the dog, so I imagine there are loads of them doing that all day when we're not here! haha! I guess Scout decided it was payback time and finally caught one.

*Note, I am in no way condoning the murder of innocent animals here.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

CAS-ual Fridays Stamps: April Sneak Peek #3

Welcome back to Day 3 of the April Sneak Peeks for CAS-ual Fridays Stamps!

Today we have another new Fri-Die called Casual Vine!
You will love the way it coordinates with the Casual Elegance stamp set, although it's pretty nifty on its own, like the way I used it! :)

For my card above, I used the die with some pretty patterned paper and added the "Happy Birthday" sentiment from the Casual Elegance stamp set. Super quick and easy! I was trying to think outside the "green" box for the vine, can you tell? haha

For my card below, I stamped some patterned paper with a texty sentiment from the Out Loud stamp set, then cut it out with the die. I also cut the background polka dot paper with the die, then laid the vine die cut piece into it. Did that make any sense?! I used a sentiment from the Stop stamp set. I got the colors and sketch for this card from the Poppy Sketch challenge site, thanks, Laura! :)

Be sure and head over to the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps blog now to see the cards from the rest of the design team! You will love all the different looks the girls came up with, plus, you'll want to leave comments on all the sneak peek posts for a chance to win the April release!

CAS-ual Friday Stamps: April Sneak Peek #2

Ready for day 2 of the April Sneak Peeks from CAS-ual Fridays Stamps?!

We have another great new Fri-Die for you, it's called Linked!
It consists of two fabulous "linked" dies!
I was pretty obsessed with the squarish links, but there's also a fabulous oval one!

For my card above, I used the Linked die on silver glitter cardstock and added a sentiment from the Woot Woot stamp set embossed in silver. Simple and dramatic, I hope! lol!

For my second card above, I went another direction with some lavender polka dot patterned paper and the Tech Talk stamp set. While I was looking through my CFS stamp sets, I noticed the little keyboard stamps fit perfectly inside the squarish links, so I cut them out and layered them on top. Even though my card is a little girly, this would be a great technique for a guy card!

Be sure and head over to the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps blog to check out the awesome creations from the rest of the design team and Michele herself, the creator of the dies! :)

CAS-ual Fridays Stamps: April Sneak Peek #1

Are you ready for some April Sneak Peeks from CAS-ual Fridays Stamps?!
Today is super fun because we've got a set of 3 Fri-Dies called Stalks Up
that coordinate with the Beanstalks stamp set!

For my card above, I used the long vine die with some cool ombre patterned paper and the stalk die with 4 layers of white tissue paper which I machine stitched to a clear oval tag using the Oval Tags Fri-Dies. The coordinating sentiment is also stamped on a piece of cardstock using the Oval Tags Fri- Dies. I used the Retro Sketches #108 sketch, but didn't pay attention to the deadline, doh! :)

For my next card, below, I used the stalk die again with some green tissue paper this time. I'm not sure why I was on a tissue paper kick?! I used the Oval Tags Fri-Die again to make some Easter eggs out of patterned paper and a sentiment from the Beanstalk set.

Be sure and check out the awesome cards from the rest of the Ink Squad over at the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps blog! You'll love all the different looks the girls created with these dies!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!
