SUO: Happy Birthday

Happy Thursday!
It's my 2nd official day of summer vacation! Whoo! Hoo!
So, I started stamping, of course! :)

I don't know about you, but I have a lot of Paper Pumpkin kits hanging around begging to be opened and used! So I whipped up this little card from the May kit. It has a great birthday stamp set!

I used all kit materials, except I added some wash tape (discontinued SU), some gold sequin trim, and I used my fringe scissors on the patterned paper strip and put the white side "out". Oh, and I guess I used the Starburst framelits die. I don't see that in the new catalog, am I missing it? I can't believe they wouldn't keep it!

I also went to my demo Lori's stamp club last night and made these two super cute projects:

Cute, huh?! Both projects use that super fine metallic thread, which led me to suggest using human hair on our projects! hahaha! We figured between all of us at the table, we had all colors covered. Would you be grossed out to get a card with human hair on it used as thread/twine? It seems very economical!

Hope I didn't scare you away for good! hehe!
Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

CAS-ual Fridays Stamps: Messy Embossing!

Happy Thursday! Remember this little card from May 30:

It was a happy accident I named "messy embossing." I played around with it some more and have a tutorial to share with you over at the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps blog!

Here are a couple of sneak peeks of my projects:

Let me know what you think!
I'm really dying to see other people get messy with this!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs & happy stamping!

CFC140: Michele's Idea of Summer

Happy Monday!

The rain has stopped and the heat has ramped up, so I thought I'd play along with the CAS-ual Fridays challenge 140: Michele's Idea of Summer. Here's how she describes it:

CFC140:  When I think of summer I think of suntans, brightly painted toes and wearing summer whites. Create a Clean And Simple (yes, it has to be CAS) project using Tan, White and one bright color.

Fun, right?!

I used the Sunbeams stamp set and a wood veneer from my stash.
A little play on words, just lucked into that one! :)

Today was the first day of summer school.
I'm teaching 5th grade students who get a 3rd chance at the state reading test.
I wasn't ecstatic (I never am in the morning!), but those poor kids, oh my.
They were about as unhappy as you can get. :(
They have to wear their uniform AND they aren't getting paid like me.
I see some hand-stamped notes in their future!

That's it for now! Thanks for stopping by! Hugs & happy stamping!
