Happy Thursday! Hope everyone is having a good day! I finally did some stamping today because luckily I did not get selected for jury duty! They only called jurors 1 - 125, and since I was 475, I got to leave. It was perfect because I didn't want to do it, of course, but I didn't have to feel *rejected* by not getting chosen if they had interviewed me. (I know...I'm very complicated...it's not easy being in my head!).
Anyway, I checked out Kristina's Color Inspiration #18 and gave it a go...two times! I did change the Gable Green to Old Olive, just had to do it. The first card above is my *normal* style, and I made it after attempting the watercolor card shown below, NOT my *normal* style! lol! For the one above, I used the new Convention set Eastern Blooms, and I used the Pumpkin Pie, Rose Red & Old Olive markers with the Stamp-a-ma-Jig for placement (the 3 flowers are on one block). And see that library clip?! Yahoo! They made it into the new catalog! Thanks SU!
While talking to some girls at Convention, I realized I hadn't used my watercolor crayons for a LONG time, like years probably, since they first came out. So I thought I would give them a try with another new Convention set, Inspired by Nature. I used the Pumpkin Pie, Close to Cocoa, and Old Olive watercolor crayons directly on the stamp, then I misted it with a plant water mister. It was pretty blah, and dh said it needed more color. His quote: "Watercoloring doesn't mean invisible." ha! ha! ha! I added some more color, (it needs more blending I believe, from looking at it now), but at that point, I was done! I also did not notice the Rose Red in the challenge in time for this one, doh! Anyway, here is an attempt at my "softer" side! lol!
I hope everyone is staying cool across the country, it's really been roasting! Thanks so much for stopping by and for leaving the sweetest comments! You've really helped make my summer fun!

Gorgeous cards. If it is your style or not your style I think you have done it wonderfully!!! Love both of them.

Very nice! The first one is my favourite!!
Wow, the first card is just gorgeous! I love the colors and layout.
The 2nd card is one of my favorite stamp sets so far. I have still to get my boxes of catalogs, but I know this set is going to be on an order. This card is gorgeous! I love the soft watercoloring effect it has.
Thanks for the congrats on the GSG invite. I was so super excited! I can't wait for the first swap, but I can't pick a set without a catalog.
Both cards are great. Your water coloring is smmooooth!
I LOVE them both!!! Super job Angie!!!
Nice work, Angie! Are these the sets that you got at Convention? Or did I miss them on the pre-order? Love the work that you put into these projects.
Love the new stamps you used and I like the Old Olive thrown in there. I started pulling colors this morning and pulled Kiwi Kiss instead...that's about as far as I got though :-)
Wow, these are super! Great takes on the challenge.
Man I struggled with the green as well. I don't think I have ever used that color of green. I LOVE your card. It is amazing.. THe new stamp set is great!!! I might have to case...

Wow! I love the tic tac toe effect with the flowers. Did you use stampamajig?
fantastic job sweetie!! I can hardly wait to get my hands on these stamp sets!!
I like both cards, but I have to say the first one is my favorite. Very nice.
Love both of your cards, but the first one just jumps right off the page. Beautiful!
WOWSERS! Loving these cards. That first one is so bright and cheery and that second one is just amazing! (I love both these new stamp sets too! I've been thinking of mounting that 3 flowers in a row seperately, but now after this card maybe I won't!) LOVE IT! Definate TOP 10!!! :)
Wow Angie! These are some rockin' cards! I love this new set used with the library clips! So cute! I also like how you toned down the colors in the 2nd one to give it a softer look!
I love the 2nd card you made too even though the 1st is lovely as usual. The 1st is just so clean and crisp. I LOVE!!
great design! so simple, but cute!
yea, I thought about you when I saw those small clips! I love your cards-I guess we have opposite style which is probably one of the things that draws us to one another's creations! I LOVE to watercolor & rarely use 2-step (solid) stamps! Your DH's comments remind me of something mine would say - that was funny! I haven't stamped anything YET - but I get off work early & have a bunch of things planned for my marathon stamping weekend!! btw - I saw Batman & LOVED it
Two too cute cards!! Love your card for Kristina's challenge!! I actually ran into her at convention!!
Wonderful cards, Angie! I love how you used the mini library clip on the first one. Thanks for the inspiration!
Oh, very nice! My favorite is the first card. Thanks for the preview of Eastern Bloooms. I like it!
These are both lovely, Angie. I have never been called for jury duty. but would be wondering why they didn't pick me if I weren't selected too! But please don't select me! It's not easy being us!
Your first one is so bright and pretty! I'm happy about those library clips too. I haven't used my watercolor crayons much lately either.
wowwww, I love the cards..the stamps are so so beautiful... Great job Angie...:-)
Fabulous cards! I love the one you did for the color challenge. I love those colors together.
Thanks for sharing.
Angie, both cards are just gorgeous! Sad that my dsl at home is still not working it took me couple of days to see your wonderful creations =)
I must've been out of it for the last week. All of the projects you've been doing since coming back from convention are awesome!!!!
