Happy Birthday, Jackson!

Hope your Saturday is going well! It's my nephew Jackson's birthday today, so this is the card he is receiving! (It will be late, alas, my family has become used to this!) I used Jen's Sketch For You To Try for this week. My first version I made "jtr" with the Jumbo Outline Alphabet on 1 1/4" squares, but it was too large for the card. I turned it landscape, but it still didn't work, because I had also made the cake from Just Celebrate too large. So I gave up and restamped the letters using the retired Typeset Alphabet Lower on 1" square, layered on 1 1/8" squares. I do like these colors, pulled from the Jersey Shore DSP. They make for a great masculine card. Anyone need some spare parts?!




I ran up to the school and worked for a couple of hours, makes me feel better about being ready for Monday. I'm determined to get more sleep next week. My laptop computer almost paid the price for my lack of sleep last week. How you ask? Well, I was shaking my Slim Fast can and proceeded to open it when a fellow teacher walked in to ask me a question. I then decided to shake the can some more, forgetting I had already opened it...oh, yes, I did! Chocolate Slim Fast flew all over my desk, mostly on my computer. Yikes! That got me awake and moving fast! It's been working okay, thank goodness, as it's the school's computer really!

Well, off to finish grading papers tonight and get them entered into the computer. Another three weeks have passed, so time for grades to go out again! Dh is keeping me company and we've been watching John Adams and next up is some of The Tudors that we've recorded and saved on the dvr. It's like we're immersing ourselves in history I told him. (He thinks I'm a nerd! lol) Have a good Saturday night!
