CPS102 Sketch Challenge: my friend

Happy Tuesday! Hope everyone had a good start to their week yesterday! Even though I had a serious lack of sleep, I had a really good Monday. After overcoming a little *prefix* trouble in reading with a one small group, the rest of the day went surprisingly well. During the *prefix* lesson, one student even said, "Oh, we're making Ms. Tieman sad." I had to reassure them that I wasn't sad, but I just wasn't doing a good job explaining it to them, and I was trying to figure out a better way. We did get there eventually!

Okay, on to the card! I made this using the CPS102 Sketch Challenge as well as Nichole's "card for a friend" challenge. Can you tell I'm addicted to that Billboard die for the Big Shot?! It's actually a decorative strip die and a very economical choice for a die cut alphabet...only $21.95...and a good size for cards. To get a little more dimension, I adhered some Chocolate Chip cardstock to some plain chipboard and then ran it through the Big Shot. They're almost like Thickers! Here's the link and a picture for it:
For the rest of the card, I made a ribbon yo-yo and used a scrap of paper from the Sweet Always DSP that I had been saving for quite some time. That bird is just too precious! I also used another new Fleurette (not really, I took the one off of this card and recycled it...they are just SO precious!) and a new 5/8" Chocolate Chip brad, isn't it fabulous?! Lastly, I folded and stitched some more DSP and added the little "my" stickers by Carolee's Creations that were in one of my Scarlet Lime kits.

Guess that's it for today! We're meeting after school to plan our costumes for the school's Valentine Carnival on Saturday. Jennifer signed our RTI team up for a "gypsy love fortune-telling" booth, aye yi yi! Any costume ideas you can share with me?!

Hope you have a great Tuesday! Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

Awesome card!!!! Love the flower and the font is very nice. Hmmm, might have to get it or figure out which is the closest and use my KnK. That's the problem with a computer die-cutter, you have so many you can't figure which is which.

Gypsy, huh? No idea from me :)
