Happy Monday! Or should I say Happy Labor Day! Finally, a chance to stamp! Yahoo! Just simple little cards, takes the creativity time to come back when it's been shoved to the back of the closet, ya know?! This card below was my first attempt last night, and it's the best I could do! lol! Since my step-dad's birthday was 3 weeks ago and his Lowe's gift card has been in my purse all this time, it seems appropriate:
Yesterday, DH and I went to our favorite Lakewood used bookstore, Paperbacks Plus, and I got all these for my classroom, for less than $30:
I know the kids will be excited, they are very eager and excited about reading, which makes their dear teacher happy (our power teaching rule #5)! I can't begin to tell you how cute my kids are this year and such a good class.
I went up to school for about 3 hours earlier today, but still brought this home to finish up tonight...laminating to be cut and Reading A to Z books to fold and assemble for Guided Reading this week:
Oh, I did go and see The Time Traveler's Wife with some friends this afternoon...so good, but so sad! Take your 3 hankies, I haven't heard that much sniffling in a movie theater in a long time! I read the book about two years ago and loved it, but didn't remember much about it. About half way through the movie I remembered and was like, "Oh no!" lol!
Hope you have enjoyed your holiday weekend! Thank you so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

LOL, you are too funny... I'm sure I'll be a mess watching that movie... I'm probably just going to end up renting it from Redbox so I won't have to embarrass myself! LOL

Oh, these are super cute!!! Looks like you've been busy cutting ;) Glad to hear it was a good movie - I hope to see it eventually. Might have to go without the hubby ;)
Both of your cards are super cute. I love Clean and Simple and you do it so much better than I do.
Your kids will love Amelia Bedelia! She has me in stitches when I read them. I have to pick some up to read with Colin. Thanks for reminding me of that!

I love the simplicity of both cards! Beautiful!
Love how the embossing is the focal point of your first card. Neat touch with the stapled accents also! Enjoy hearing your school stories, your kids are blessed to have you as their teacher!
Cute card Angie, I like that Big Shot embossed piece, a great look!
I love the asterick idea. Who could EVER be mad about late with a gift card attached?
Oh... I've been wanting to hear from someone that read the book and saw the movie. I'm not sure if I want to see it. The book was so sad.
Love these cards!
Simple works great for a masculine card!
I read the Time Travelers Wife book and then saw the movie with my daughter. I was trying to keep it together in front of my dd but it was just so sad.... but good!

Very cool clean and simple cards, Angie!
I see all your laminating...I love doing laminating for the teachers! Wish I was there to help you.
I like the CAS masculine style cards. I don't do enough of these kind.
I think I'd like to see The Time Traveler's Wife. I read the book in a book club several years ago, but I don't remember much.
Power Rule #5 - LOVE it! I must ask...what are the other power rules?
