Raspberry Suite Challenge #3

Happy Tuesday! Here's a little card I made for Dawn McVey's Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #3. These colors were a little more challenging, and I probably went a little heavy on the red, but I used Kraft for the base, Red Riding Hood and Cameo Coral floral paper from the Pink Flamingo DSP, Pink Pirouette on the little tag label, and there's a tiny bit of Vanilla around the edge of the bird!

I used more of my Sassafrass Lass chipboard animals...they're almost all gone now and I've only cut into one sheet of the paper that matches them! lol! Oh well, at least I *used* something instead of hoarding it all, right?! I started to put an Easter greeting on this, but decided it would be sweet for a baby girl card for who knows, sometime in the future!

Warning: NSR! Since some of you mentioned liking my school stories, here's my favorite one from last week. I was finishing up in the 2nd grade classroom, and the teacher Ms. K had started reading a book to the kids, Miss Rumphius. She started (like all good readers do) reading the title, looking at the cover and pictures, and making predictions as to what the book may be about.

Ms. K: What do you think this book might be about?

Boy 1: George Washington?

Ms. K: Hmmm, I don't think so because George Washington was a man, and this is a woman. Someone else?

Boy 2: Abraham Lincoln?

Ms. K: Hmmmm, again, I don't think so because Abraham Lincoln was a man, and this is a woman. Someone else?

Girl 1: Oh, I know! Mrs. George Washington?

At this point, it was all I could do not to start laughing! Apparently they have been studying the presidents! The next girl finally made a good guess "Maybe a woman and her garden?" Yaaay! lol!

Okay, off to school! These children are our future, you know! Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

Great job with the challenge, your card looks awesome! And don't you love this book - it's one of my favorites, but there's definitely no presidents or their wives in it - LOL!

Your story cracks me up. Isn't it amazing what kids will say and think? Sometimes it is nearly impossible for an adult to comprehend! Yesterday my 9 y.o. son ran to me and mumbled out something like "Mom, where's the bow, I can't find the bow?" I just stood and stared thinking it would sink in any minute what on earth he's talking about. Nope, didn't sink in. I said "huh?" so he repeated himself in the same exact words not realizing that he'd need to expand on that in order for me to get it. I asked if he's working on homework- "Yes"- OK, getting somewhere. Turns out he is supposed to be drawing a picture using a list of descriptive words from a story he was supposed to have read. The "bow" he was looking for was actually a "bough" which was burried in the middle of a story I hadn't yet read or even seen. Geesh!?! Sometimes it's better to just nod and smile. LOL!

I'm so behind on looking at my favorite blogs. I had 9 new entries for you in Google Reader...you have been busy Missy!

Congrats on the 200K hits! That's awesome. Seriously gorgeous card. That deer chipboard is fantastic.

Little kids are funny. My son makes be laugh everyday. His K class has been studying clouds. He knows "nimbus", "stratus", and he claimed there were "columbus" clouds. I had to Google clouds to figure out what he was talking about...oh..."cumulus" clouds!
