Twigster Tree with Big Shot Birdie

Happy Saturday! I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend and is safely secured away for the arrival of hurricane Ike. I didn't get a chance to stamp last night so thought I would share this card I made several days ago. It's the cute little tree from Mr. Twigster with the addition of the little birdie from the Stampin' Up! exclusive Birds & Blooms Sizzlits Die 4-pack. Isn't she cute?! I also used the fabulous new Frosty Day DSP from the Holiday Mini Catalog. I know the colors aren't your "traditional" Christmas colors, but that's what I LOVE about them! So fun!

And here's why I didn't get to stamp or post last night...I went to a sporting event! Our two charter schools have sports teams this year! It's a big step for us...the last several years have focused on academics, but as the students have improved significantly and the school income has improved, we added some sports this year. The students are so excited, it's awesome!

So I went to two girls' volleyball game series last night at the YMCA by downtown Dallas. I admit I wasn't too excited at first because I'm always so tired by Friday night, but it was an absolute blast! I haven't been to a sporting event since high school and college, and I totally forgot how exciting it can be! It was a small crowd (we were LOUD though!), but I think attendance will continue to grow as word gets out. Anyway, here's a *bad* picture I took from my iPhone.

Okay, I better get moving...think I need to make a coffee run to get going this morning! There are some good movies on Turner Classic Movies today (if the power doesn't go out!)...My Favorite Wife at 9:30 CST and Doctor Zhivago at 1:30 CST...those are some great stamping movies!

Have a great Saturday! Thanks for stopping by!

Love the non-traditional holiday colors! You're ok at your location and not too close the hurricane? We're thinking of everyone down there...

Love those fun colors on that designer paper! Glad you had fun at the game, my littlest one is at a charter school too! ;-) He's loving it.

Can't wait to see what you come up with during your movie/stamp marathon! Hoping to have one of those myself tonight, whenever these two little faces hit the hay tonight!

This is fantastic! I know what you mean about Fridays and being tired. I actually fell asleep on the couch and took a nap today. It was heavenly.

I just love the little die cut bird with the tree. So cute!
