Spooky Week Day 2: Boo Bag

Happy Monday and Happy Spooky Week Day 2! How do you feel about a Boo Bag filled with popcorn? I thought about putting black licorice in there, but I knew we wouldn't eat it and it seemed so wasteful, but then I ended up burning most of the popcorn anyway! Doh!

Okay, before I go any farther, I have to say a big thank you and give credit to Mel Stampz. While checking out her blog today, I remembered she's doing a 13 Days of Halloweenie, go check it out now! It must have been in my subconscious and popped out when I thought of this spooky week thing. I can't begin to compare with the fabulous projects she has, if you haven't seen her, you don't know what you're missing. She has the MOST creative ideas and gets soooo much done, including complete tutorials, I have no idea how she does it! Plus, she's always super nice and supportive of other bloggers too, she really is the best! You for sure don't want to miss the Skeleton Stick Puppets and Theater (yes, it's a card!) and the Skeleton and Coffin Box!

Here's a few details on my bag in case you're interested. I used the Big Shot and Top Note Bigz Die inside a paper bag, and I first got this idea when I saw it here on Splitcoast by Angela Riddell. You just carefully place the Top Note die inside the bag and run it through the Big Shot. I placed a piece of transparency over the Top Note window to seal it up. There are so many things you could put in here, it would be a precious gift for someone!

Now for the BOO letters...I used my Big Deal Alphabet and black cardstock. I don't like cutting out letters with an exacto knife, so here's what I did. I stamped the letters in Versamark on Black cardstock, then covered them with Heat & Stick Powder and heated them with the Heat Tool. Next, I used the 3/4" circle punch inside the "b" and the 1" circle punch inside the "o" to pop the middle out! To make the "o" a perfect circle, I then punched around the outside of the letter with the 1 3/8" circle punch. After punching, I poured on the Black Chunky Glitter and heat set it. I did one letter at a time, working quickly. The Heat & Stick Powder method is really not the best with the chunky glitter, you can also use Crystal Effects (like Diamond Glaze) or even the Scotch Quick-Dry Adhesive that my friend Suzy introduced me to.

Lastly, I didn't get a very good picture of the upper corners, but I used the Curvy Label punch to get this shape.

Yikes, it's getting late and I *should* get to bed. Who thinks I will? Who thinks I won't? Hee! Hee!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have you stamped something today?
