Stampin' Up! Saturday #1

Happy Saturday! So I had this idea on Friday that I would get back to my *roots* and have one day a week on my blog where I showed cards that were stamped with Stampin' Up! only products. I use so many products with lots of "premade" accents or embellishments, I find I don't stamp as much as I used to, especially with my Stampin' Up! products, and I have a LOT of them! hehe! I want to challenge myself to get inky more often! I don't know how many visitors I get that use Stampin' Up! products, but I thought I would enter a "link up" below so others could share too!

I got to stamp with my bff Lori yesterday, so we played along with the Seize the Birthday #20 challenge using this sketch:

Here is Lori's card, so cute! We tried this new technique she saw where you use blue painter's tape, run it over your ink pad, then run it over the cardstock. It made a really cool effect, looks sort of like Washi tape! After I saw her cute scallop flower, I copied it to put on my card! It's all about sharing, right?!

Next up, we played with new Perfect Blend stamp set. I've wanted a coffee set for so long and finally found one I loved! Lori was inspired by a card she saw online to create this fantastic card below. I love the splotches! She mixed up 70% alcohol/30% ink refill and put it in a mister bottle. Instead of misting, we pulled the piece out and "flicked" it onto the cardstock.

Here's my card below. I broke into my Epic Day This and That designer stickers. See, I still couldn't stay away from some premade embellishments! haha!

Okay, I hope you like our cards and might want to get inky with some Stampin' Up! products too! Please link up your creations below if you want to share with us! Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

CFC107: Hunger Games

It's CAS-ual Fridays time!

Who loves the Hunger Games?!

This week's challenge, CFC107: Hunger Games...
create a CAS project using arrows!

Arrows are definitely a hot trend right now! I didn't have any true arrow stamps, but I did have a red arrow die cut frame like this and a wooden Hello frame like this (bottom), but I searched the internet for other arrow possibilities, which led me here, to the free arrow I used. And by the way, I am totally making those for my students for Valentine's Day next year! I just opened the image in Photoshop, resized it smaller, printed, and cut it out! Easy!

Now here's a secret about this card...the base, including the chevron embossing and spray misting, was already completed and rejected from a previous project. I noticed the spray mist kind of matched the pink of the arrow, then I found the Amy Tangerine sticker, and boom, done!

If only it was really that easy, ha. I continued to try other possibilities for several days, until my head and neck were killing me and I was filled with anxiety, and I gave up and scanned the original card at midnight. What can I say, I'm all about self-induced pressure. Is there a group that meets for that?!

Are you ready to play along? This week's winner will receive a $25 gift certificate from our sponsor, Simon Says Stamps! Woot! Woot!

Head over to the CAS-ual Fridays blog to link up and check out the awesome arrow cards from the other Girl Fridays! They put mine to shame...and without any anxiety attacks too, I bet! hehe! Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

Runway Inspired Challenge #38: thanks

Happy Wednesday! And Happy 1st day of summer vacation for me! Woo! Hoo! If I agree to teach summer school next year, I'm counting on a friend to slap me and duct tape my mouth shut! hehe! I actually enjoyed the teaching part of it and the students (like I always do!), I think it was just the mental anguish of my body knowing it was supposed to be on summer vacation!

I *plan* on kicking up my papercrafting, so last night played along with the Runway Inspired Challenge #38. It's definitely an unusual color combo, but I loved that shimmery, damask skirt. I couldn't find any supplies the color of the shirt, so I went with a neutral color but picked up the diamond motif. That punch of coral with her bag really makes the outfit I think!

Okay, I better get on with that papercrafting, maybe right after a short nap! ha! Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

CFC106: Over the Edge

It's CAS-ual Fridays time! Whoo! Hoo!

I hope you'll come play along with this week's challenge:
Create a CAS project with an element that extends over the edge of the project!

We all do this sometimes anyway, right?!
I'll admit, I quit for awhile when I was having trouble actually using the cards because they wouldn't fit in the envelope. But then I had the "Duh!" moment and started using the envelopes one size up on these occasions. I find these envelopes are also great when you have the "heavily embellished" card that won't fit into the regular envelope. You know, the ones that are the opposite of CAS! hehe!

For my card I used the CAS-ual Fridays stamp set Ka-Boom! Love that fun set!
Okay, let's see, who wants to be 21 again?!
I started to put the number "50" on this card, but as that number quickly approaches for me,
I decided it was a little too risky to pair with "Boom!" :)

Speaking of CAS-ual Fridays Stamps, they are our sponsor this week, yay!
This week's challenge winner will win a free stamp set of her choice!
Be sure and check out this month's new releases that are also available now!

I can't wait to see how you take it Over the Edge!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Hugs and happy stamping!

CFC105: Mapquest

It's CAS-ual Fridays time!

Wanna get away? Or simulate a get-away? That's me, hehe!
Come join us for this week's challenge, CFC#105: Mapquest...
create a CAS card using a travel theme...maps or things that go, etc.

Fun, right? From what I've been noticing from different stamp companies, maps are big right now!
Do you have a cool map stamp? I really like those United States outline stamps.
I used a few new goodies I purchased last weekend for my card.
The paper and die-cut stickers are from October Afternoon's Travel Girl collection
Sigh, I just love everything October Afternoon does.

Here's another card I made for the challenge, my first card actually.
Yes, I almost always make at least two cards for each challenge.
I'm never satisfied. Don't even get my husband started. Meaning, I'm constantly dragging cards to him to vote on which one he likes better. hehe!
I had to buy the Travel Girl stamp set for those eyeglasses alone.
I think I like this card better, even though he didn't. I don't think he gets the ink spots. :)

Are you ready to play along?
You might win your choice of stamp sets from this week's sponsor, CAS-ual Fridays Stamps!

I can't wait to check out your take on Mapquest!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

YOU Can Do Anything!

Howdy, peeps! How is your summer going?! I'm afraid the heat has once again found us in Texas. I had my weepy last day of school last Thursday, but I haven't started the "full-blown summer celebration" yet since I'm teaching summer school. Check back with me on Thursday, June 27, my first real day of summer vacation! hehe!

Thought I would do a quick share of a card I made last week. This was the first card I made for the CAS-ual Fridays #104 Banners and Flags challenge. I was trying to do something different than the normal banners and flags by making a "letters banner" but then I wondered if it was really still a banner? Hmmmm. What do you think? You still have time to play along with the challenge!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

It's CAS-ual Fridays time!
Come play along with CFC#104: Create a CAS project using banners or flags!
This is such a hot trend, I know you'll have several entries! *wink*

I used some new Stampin' Up! stamps from my friend Lori for this one.
I wish they were my stamps, though, hehe!

This week's sponsor is Ellen Hutson and the winner will receive a $25 gift certificate! Sweet!

I can't wait to check out your banners and flags creations!
