They Say It's Your Birthday!

Happy Monday! Brrrrr! Somehow another cold front came through and somebody (me) had turned the heat off! Poor dh! lol!

Here's another card I made for a friend at work last week for her mother-in-law. It's a larger card, 5x7, with a custom envelope. I used the great sketch from Cardabilities #91. The awesome sentiment is from Bold Wishes by CAS-ual Fridays Stamps.

Fusion #2: Love

Happy Sunday! How is your weekend? I had a long day at school yesterday after Saturday school ended, and some more work to do yet, but I am determined to get a little stamping in today! :)

I made this card last week for a co-worker who need a 2nd anniversary card for her niece. She requested glitter, so I used the Stampin' Up! "love" Thinlit die with some of their glittery paper. I played along with the Fusion #2 challenge, so glad to see it up and going strong!

RS#98: Happy Birthday

Happy Thursday!! A weekday post! It's a stamping during school miracle! haha!
(Edited to add: That sounds bad. I was NOT stamping during the school DAY. It was home at night, but during the school YEAR. :)

A friend asked me to make a birthday card for her niece using orange, so I whipped this up using the Retro Sketches #98. The inspiration from their design team was awesome, so I plunged in even though I wasn't sure about this sketch. Happily, it came together very quickly! That almost never happens for me! ha! I used some Party Day paper, chipboard, and stickers from Crate Paper, love that collection!

Okay, back to school work! Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

STS #11: Happy Birthday

Happy Sunday! Hope you are enjoying your weekend! I've caught up on a LOT of sleeping and a little bit of papercrafting! :)

I saw a reminder from Amy that there was still time to play along with this week's Seize the Sketch, so I did! I used some goodies from my Crate Paper Party Day stash, love that collection!

I'm off in a bit to see The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. Has anyone seen it? The trailers look like they've taken some modern-day liberties with the characters, but I'm hoping for a happy, uplifting picture. I saw August: Osage County last weekend, and while filled with great performances, it was a major downer. haha!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

CAS-ual Fridays Stamps: A Whole Lotta Love

Happy Saturday! I'm up on the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps blog today, so I have several projects to share! For my first project above, I played with this month's new release Cupid's Arrows and Heart Board Fri-Dies. I LOVE this set and dies! I also played along with the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge #126: Color Blocks AND the Unscripted Sketches #239 challenge. What a perfect pairing, huh?!

I used the Cupid's Arrows and Heart Board Fri-Dies again for my next card below. I was playing with the idea of a more *casual* lovey card, so I used some Studio Calico sticker letters to spell "whatever" and then stamped over them with the CFS Breathe stamp. I resisted the urge to add a big bow like I wanted, sigh, and went with a more manly black twine. Oooh, maybe we need a new stamp with the sentiment "Real men don't mind bows." haha!

For my last project below, I went for a more vintage look using the new Love Notes, Heart Note Fri-Dies, and Heart Board Fri-Dies. I loved making and distressing my own musical paper and glittering up those heart note dies! I clearly got my *bow fix* in here! :)

Thanks so much for stopping by to check out my CAS-ual Fridays Stamps projects! I hope you enjoyed them! Hugs and happy stamping!

Wishing You a Fantastic 2014!

Wishing You a Fantastic 2014! I don't think it's late, really, considering it is currently 2014. Now come January 1, 2015, that is too late! hehe!

I LOVED this Colour Q #223 challenge, so I had to play along this weekend. Maybe it's because I'm so in love with Summer Starfruit. I especially love that this challenge made me break free from my "matchy" nature and use that bright red enamel dot. Love, love, love!

I picked up this fun stamp set by Jill Bean Soup called Christmas Ornaments at Archiver's when I was in Kansas City over Christmas break. Little did I know it would be my last trip there, sniff, sniff. Still can't believe they are closing!

Hope your week is off to a great start! Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

CAS-ual Fridays Stamps: January Sneak Peek #3

Welcome to day 3, the final sneak peek for the January release at CAS-ual Fridays Stamps!

Michele has designed another great stamp set, Cupid's Arrow, and Fri-Die, Heart Board, that you are going to flip over!! The stamp set features the beautiful heart I used above (it's embossed, but the photo doesn't show it well, dang!), along with 7 different arrow sentiments. Then to make it even better, there are the coordinating dies that have a 5-layer heart and the matching arrow! You'll find about a million ways to use these!

For my second project below, I made a simple little treat bag with a fringed edge top, wrapped in ribbon, holding a wooden tag stamped with multiple arrow sentiments. And what does one put in the treat bag? Lots of things, of course, but at my house, it's a chili seasoning packet from the pantry! haha!

Be sure and head over to the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps blog to check out the amazing and diverse projects from the rest of the design team. You'll want to leave a comment too for a chance to win Michele's giveaway this month! All new January stamp sets and dies will be available for purchase on January 9, which gives you plenty of time to whip up your Valentine projects!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

CAS-ual Fridays Stamps: January Sneak Peek #2

Eeek! I'm so excited about this new January Sneak Peek from CAS-ual Fridays Stamps!

It's called Sands of Time, sigh. Who doesn't love a sand timer?
I love them at school when students time themselves reading and I love them in home decorating. Now I can love them in stamp form too! Michele is genius!

For my card, I created a mask with the heart and grains of sand, so I could stamp the "I LOVE YOU" sentiment in the sand timer. I'm kind of a lazy stamper and forget about creating masks. hehe!

You have to head over to the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps blog and see what the rest of the design team did with this uber cool set! So many possibilities! Check out the give away Michele is doing this week too! *wink*

I'll see you tomorrow with another fabulous sneak peek!
Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

CAS-ual Fridays Stamps: January Sneak Peek #1

Yay! It's time to start the sneak peeks of the new January release from CAS-ual Fridays Stamps!

Michele always blows me away with her awesome stamp designs, but this has to be my favorite release week ever! These designs are so fresh and fun, I haven't seen anything like them out there, and I know you are going to love them too!

Today's sneak peek shows off a new stamp set called Love Notes and a coordinating Fri-Die called Heart Note. Is that note die awesome or what?! You can't see the detail in my photo, but I stamped on the Heart Note die with the long, musical note stamp in Versamark and heat embossed it for tone-on-tone texture. To make the colored rings, I punched several different size circles and used the circle rings as a stencil to watercolor on ink with my Aquapainter. For the layout, I used this great clean and simple sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch #58.

I whipped up one more card below with my favorite sentiment from the set. Who else remembers the tune "Silly Love Songs"? I had the 45 record and played it on my little red record player. *smile* I also have a friend or two looking for their love match out there, so I know I'll be using this stamp a lot! Here I embossed the sentiment and musical notes with silver embossing powder and used the Heart Note Fri-Die again with silver glitter paper. Bam! My non-traditional color inspiration comes from the Matthew Williamson photo at this week's Runway Inspired Challenge.

Be sure and head over to the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps blog to check out the wild creativity coming from the rest of the design team! They came up with so many different, fun creations!

I'll be back Tuesday morning with another new sneak peek!
