Stampin' Up!: Halloween Projects

Happy Sunday! Here's a quick share of some Halloween projects I made recently at Stamp Club with my demo Lori Souter. She's awesome and her blog is Found My Happy!

Don't you love the shimmer on the broomstick?!

The broomstick is made with Chocolate Twizzlers! Did you know that existed?! I didn't!
Lori found them at Walgreens, and they are delicious! I had to test them, you know!

This is the inside of the treat box. Yes, she gives us treats to put inside,
although some of us choose to eat them before we get home! hee! hee!

Don't you love these adorable chevron bags that are available in the Stampin' Up! catalog?!

That's it for now, it's Hitchcock day on TCM! :)

Seize the Sketch #4: It's a Boy!

Happy Saturday! Hope you are enjoying your weekend! We've had some much needed rain here in Dallas, so it's been a quiet, peaceful day at home.

I had to play along with this week's Seize the Sketch #4, such a great sketch, right? I had the gathered fabric fringe (you can barely see it, peeking out from behind) and the pink striped piece on my desk for some time, just waiting for the perfect card. The other little bits are from Crate Paper. I keep trying to make baby girl cards and they turn into baby boy cards!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

Unscripted Sketches #223: Bun in the Oven

Happy Monday! Here's the one little card I managed to get made the whole of the weekend. Sigh. Do you ever wonder, "Where did the weekend go? What on earth did I do?" Whatever it was must have been good because I'm exhausted and heading to bed shortly, haha!

I played along with the Unscripted Sketches #223 using the Plus One set I got this summer from Lawn Fawn. I wanted a cute baby set, but you know I have coloring anxiety, so I'm not sure this was the best choice for me! You don't know how many discarded buns in the oven are on my desk! Wait, that did not sound good. But you know what I mean. I finally relied on my old standby...coloring in kraft cardstock with white pigment ink and a blender pen and my Pure Color Pencils. Should I just break down and start buying Copics already?!

That's all she wrote tonight! Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

Stamps: Lawn Fawn Plus One

Ink: SU Early Espresso, Blushing Bride marker, White Craft Ink.

CAS-ual Fridays Stamps: Who's Turning...shhhh...

Happy Saturday! I'm super excited to be up today on the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps blog!

I pulled out one of my early CAS-ual Fridays Stamp sets: WTF. It's really not as controversial as it sounds! *wink* Not with sentiments like "Who Totally Forgot?", "Wow That's Fantastic!", and "Who's Turning Fifty?" When my mom saw a card with the "WTF" on it, she wanted one immediately! It doesn't work with "Who's Turning Seventy" though! heehee! It's not for several years, she's going to kill me for posting this, oops!

I used the WTF set to make two totally different looking cards. The one above is "sweet" (at least I hope it is, ha!) with the Fri-Dies Oval Tag, dry embossing, and tulle ribbon. The card below, on the other hand, is a little more bold and clean and simple. I used an arrow from Studio Calico and some Thickers with it. I'm also entering this one in the CAS•ology Cue Card Arrow challenge, perfect timing!

Have a great weekend! Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

Bounty of Baby Cards

Happy Sunday! I hope you enjoy the above "bounty of baby cards"! I went to a breast cancer benefit crop yesterday at The Crafty Scrapper with my girlfriends and it was a most productive day! The above purchased ribbon from May Arts was my inspirations along with some yummy cardstock from Little Boy Blue from Crate Paper. Below is the one, lonely baby girl card! :)

I'll be back later this week with some birthday cards. I actually completed 9 cards and 12 Halloween treat holders for my students at the 14 hour crop. My friends loved pointing out that this is more than I usually get done at a 3-day weekend crop! Haha! I decided the sofa and the bed at the retreat center must be my downfall! They don't have that at The Crafty Scrapper. *Smile* Although I did take a few moments to read from my current book, Confessions of a Jane Austin Addict, in one of their easy chairs! lol!

RIC#43: Happy Birthday to You!!

Happy Tuesday! How is your week going? Hot? Crafty? Busy? Chilling? Children? :)

Earlier this week I saw this Runway Inspired Challenge #43 and since it's the color of my alma mater Mizzou, you know I had to play along! And luckily I have someone who will be celebrating a birthday that roots for the black and gold! The timing is also perfect because we are having a college spirit rally at school tomorrow, so we had to dig out some photos and info from our college days. That was reaching waaaaayyyyyy back there for some of us (me). Yes, I was practicing the Mizzou fight song last night, and dh really enjoyed it!

Back to the card, Angie! I used some die cut stickers and some number paper from Times & Season by Echo Park, (which is in no way to imply that the recipient was born in the 1900s, hehe!) and some Cosmo Cricket letter stickers along with a fabby wooden tag, and that's it!

That's it for now! Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

SUO: CAS(E) This Sketch #44

Happy Sunday! Hope you're enjoying your weekend! Mine is going by too quickly! Wouldn't it be great to have a 3-day weekend every week?!

I played along this afternoon with CAS(E) this Sketch #44 and made a friend's birthday card. Hmmm, I just noticed and remembered this was supposed to be clean and simple, oops! I kept adding a little more goodies to my card! I'm so glad Stampin' Up! has doilies and chevron ribbon! I even got a little *cray-cray* with the inside of my card for a change, too!

CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Blog: Boo-Yah!

Happy Monday and Happy Labor Day! Today I'm up on the the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps blog and I have some fun projects to share using the Exclamations stamp set!

If you're like me, I never have enough "guy" cards, so I started out using the Oval Tags Fri-Dies in Kraft card stock and covered it with different Washi tapes. I love the large hole in the tag that allows for nice, thick ribbon to pass through it. (Yes, I know I just said a guy card, but I couldn't resist some chevron ribbon!) If your man watches Jim Kramer like mine, you know all about his "Booya" so this sentiment was perfect!

My second project also uses the Exclamations stamp set and Oval Tags Fri-Dies. The oval tag makes the ghost...I just cut off the bottom with pinking shears. I embossed the two larger asterisks on the box (look closely!) and used part of the Boo-Yah sentiment for the tag. Inside the box is a little Butterfinger, yum!

The box is super easy and you can make 4 boxes from one sheet of card stock.

To make the box, start with a 4 3/4" x 4 1/4" piece of card stock. The pictures below aren't great, but they will show you how to create the box. :)

Thanks to my friend Lori for showing me how to make this cute little box! I'm going to make them for all my students this year. I should have plenty of time if I get started now, right?!

Thanks so much for stopping by to check out my CAS-ual Fridays Stamps projects! Hugs and happy stamping!
