2 Sketches 4 You: Kazan's Sketch #62

Happy Monday! I'm back with a new design for 2 Sketches 4 You! Don't you love Kazan's sketch this week, with that dreamy fancy edge?! So many possibilities!

The design team was super fortunate to get to work with fun decals from this week's sponsor: EAD Designs. I used stickerz from the Asian Flair sheet, so much fun! They are so forgiving to work with, I loved that! I applied the house and the branch to the background Basic Grey piece, then I applied the girl to a piece of white cardstock and cut her out so I could "pop" her up for dimension.

Be sure and head over to 2S4Y to check out the cards from the rest of the design team and play along! Remember, Laura and Kazan are cruising the gallery for new designers in October, and it could be you! Hugs and happy stamping!

Cardstock: SU Basic Black and Whisper White.
Accessories: EAD Designs Asian Flair Stickerz, SU Black Striped Ribbon, Prima flower, Basic Grey die-cut floral piece, misc. button.

Thanks for RAKS and Blog Candy!

Happy Saturday! Thought I would share some LONG overdue thank yous for birthday RAKS and blog candy!

First up, this beautiful card from Sherri Barron. Sherri is a way-talented paper crafter and furniture designer! You can see more of her beautiful work at Fun to Stamp.

I received this super cute alien card from Vera Shoeters. How did she know I love all things alien, including science-fiction movies?! You can check out more of her fabby work at Vera Stamps.

I received this lovely card, in person, from my dear friend Lori! (I put the wrong last name, oops, she is happily married now!) You can check out her work...here...or at her shop in Dallas, Sister's Closet, because she won't start a blog, no matter how much I pester her to do so!

This last card is my from my dear upline, Jackie, who never forgets me! Wish I had more time to stamp with her, she's great fun!

Next...I've been super lucky lately and received 2 blog candy RAKS! First, I received these yummy goodies...I'm going to try not to hoard them and use them!...from Ann over at Creative Antics! Ann is incredibly talented AND she teaches like me, except she teaches those super scary high school students! More power to her!

Lastly, I was so lucky to receive these BOB sight word books from a give-away on Michaele Sommerville's blog, Kindergarten's 3 R's: Respect, Resources, and Rants. Michaele has been teaching a long time and always has great ideas and advice! She is also very paper crafty in her spare time and shares so many cute projects, check her out!

Okay, guess I better get moving. I'm supposed to be working on my card for 2S4Y! eek! School is kicking my a**, if you know what I mean! I started with a sore throat and feeling crappy on Thursday morning, but I am trying to fight it off and I think I'm winning. I took a 2 hour nap last night, then slept 14 hours! Wowza, that's a record!

Hope all is well in your world, I am trying to get by to see you! *wink* Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

Paisley Prints: merry

Happy Wednesday! I got excited for a minute just now when I thought today was Thursday, sigh.

But here's a quick card share! This is another one of my SU Convention display samples. Can you believe I still haven't shown them all?! I guess it's good since lately I only have time to stamp about once a week!

I used the Paisley Prints set and cut out the leaves to sort of make a Christmas look. The alphabet is Rough Type, I think it was in the Summer Mini catalog. Very simple and easy card!

Hope life is treating you well! Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

Stamps: Paisley Prints, Rough Type Alphabet
Cardstock: Soft Suede, Wild Wasabi, Whisper White, Real Red.

Dark and Dreary

Happy Friday! My head is killing me, I'm exhausted, and I see no possible way I'm going to make it through this day, but I'm still saying: Happy Friday! ha!

Here's a super quick share...the swap card I made for the Stampin' Up! Regional Event in Fort Worth last weekend. I used my new Glimmer Brads, so I had about four different color versions of this card with slight variations. I'm definitely ordering more Glimmer Brads, they are even cooler than they appear in the catalog!

Okay, ta-ta for now! Off to school to celebrate Constitution Day! I'll leave you with this song that has been in my head since I started planning the lessons last weekend:

Artistic Etchings: Amour

Happy Saturday! Hope your weekend is going well!

I just got home from the Stampin' Up! Regionals in Fort Worth...well, I had a short nap when I first got home...but talk about a good time! My up, upline had a shoebox swap at the Embassy Suites where we stayed last night (what a NICE place that is!) and this is the card I made for it using Artistic Etchings. It did involve some hand-cutting, but no one complained...not to my face anyway! hee! hee!

The Regional was great, LOTS of good stamping ideas shared! Shelli made it, which is always exciting! I had a great time with friends Lori and Shelby, caught up with lots more sister demos I don't get to see near enough, met some major talent like Christie in person for the first time (she did an amazing on-stage WOW demonstration!), I swapped with Twila even though I didn't realize it until later (she also did an amazing on-stage WOW demonstration!), but I never could find Lisa or Suzy, bummer! I'll try to get some swaps photographed and uploaded soon.

DH just got home, so I better go and check on him! I'm sure he missed me terribly! ha! Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

Recipe
Stamps: Artistic Etchings, Notably Ornate.
Cardstock: Crumb Cake
Ink: Staz-On Black, Cranberry Crisp.
Accessories: Black Lace Trim, 1 3/4" Circle Punch, Stampin' Dimensionals.

Happy Wednesday! It's already Hump Day, can I get an "aw yeah"!

I realized I never finished showing all of my SU convention samples, so here's another one using the Holiday Mini Paisley Prints set. It's a very versatile set!

Gotta dash! Hope you have a great day! Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

2 Sketches 4 You: Laura's Sketch #60 and My Bonus Sketch!

Happy Monday! It's time for a new 2 Sketches 4 You sketch, Laura's fabby Sketch #60! Our sponsor this week is Craft Brulee, and they sent the design team some super yummy ribbon and flowers to work with! I know you'll want to play along this week to win the prize from them! My grandmother is having a birthday this week, so I made this card especially for her, she loves butterflies!

But wait, that's not all! This week was my turn to provide the extra bonus sketch at 2S4Y! So fun! I made this card with more yummy ribbon from Craft Brulee, some fabric from SU, and some Smooch Spritz. I had a lot of fun experimenting with that stuff this week! I hope you'll play along with my sketch this week too!

Be sure and check out the rest of the samples from the design team at 2S4Y, then upload your creations! I can't wait to see what you create!

Have a Seat: hi

Happy Sunday...evening! Hope you are enjoying your holiday weekend! I certainly am! I finally squeezed in a post...and a new card! Yippee! I was turning into Monday only blogger, egads! Thank goodness 2S4Y at least keeps me on track for that!

I saw this beautiful inspiration photo from OTWC #23 Challenge while catching up on my blurfing this weekend, and I had to play! Don't you love those colors?! I think that photo of the silhouettes did it for me! My card is super simple, but it felt really good to stamp for fun! That SU Have a Seat stamp seat is getting to be a reliable, standby for me, plus don't you love the new big buttons SU has in their Holiday Mini Catalog?! To die for!

Okay, I told myself I could make one card, then on to lesson plans for the following week, sigh. I have to get ahead for a change! I am too old for this! I did catch up on sleep...11 hours Friday night and Saturday night, plus a 2 hour nap today. SO nice! Hopefully all fun stuff tomorrow...more stamping and Scott Pilgrim vs. The World with dh.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

p.s. Anyone going to the Stampin' Up! Regional in Fort Worth on Saturday?! Save a swap for me! *wink*
