Happy Moments: thank you

Happy Saturday! Blogging from the sofa, recuperating from some nasty infection, yuck. At least I'm sitting up now, so that's a huge improvement. Off to check up on my Google Reader next, it's piled up over 600 again, doh!

This is the first card I made when I started my Leadership samples, it's pretty simple. Don't know if you're like me, but when you haven't stamped or scrapped for awhile, it always takes awhile to find your mojo again and get back into it. Guess it would be better if you never had to stop, but somehow life gets in the way! lol!

Okay, off to Google Reader and see if I can find something else to watch on the tv. Cant' believe I'm admitting it here, but I just watched (and half slept through) The Hannah Montana movie. And no, I didn't have a 6 year old little girl here with me to make it justifiable!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

Whimsical Words: follow your heart

Happy Thursday! Yay, it's almost Friday! Are you with me?! Yesterday was a good day, no need to get out Ms. Swamp after all, lol! We did make new pledges to each other...theirs on behavior and following rules, etc...mine on making fun lessons and activities for them and getting enough sleep! I made good on the second part so far, went to bed at 6:30 pm (with a migraine, blah, I think it was a weather front) and woke up at 5:00 am, wow! This may be the first day I don't absolutely *need* Starbucks, but I hate to risk it, ha!

Here's a simple little card, but the photo didn't turn out great, and I only seemed to take one for some crazy reason. I love the Basic Gray cardstock too, but he seems to get forgotten a lot since he's competing with Kraft, and now Soft Suede too!

Adios for now! Hope you have a great Thursday! Hugs and happy stamping!

With All My Heart: thank you

Happy Wednesday! Welcome, hump day, and give me strength to make it until Friday. Goodness, those kids were wound up yesterday! Miss Viola Swamp may be subbing for me tomorrow!

To share today, yes, it's another SU Leadership sample. Yikes, I'm getting dangerously low on these samples! Must find more time to stamp, ha! I used With All My Heart and clear embossed with Versamark ink. Don't look too close, it's a little splotchy, so embarrassed, but not too embarrassed to re-do it! ha! Note to self, next time use that Embossing Buddy! You might recognize this color scheme from here and here. Can you tell I like it?! I cut the scallops by hand, go me!, and used my favorite background stamp, Woodgrain, sigh.

Ta ta for now! Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

Kazan's Sketch #44: What's Up?

Happy Tuesday! I should title this post: better late than never! I started this card Saturday night for Kazan's Sketch #44, trying to make it before the midnight deadline. Obviously, it didn't happen! ha! My mojo was gone...I wanted the card to say "What's up?" (like the toast, get it?!), but I was obsessing on how to get the apostrophe in there with those brown sticker letters. After several hours (did I mention I was obsessing?!), I finally went to bed and read a book, then woke up Sunday morning and thought, "Oh, just draw an apostrophe with your brown marker." Time and perspective...that's all it takes sometimes! ;-)

Well, anxious to get back to class after being out at my writing workshop yesterday and see if the kids missed me! That's the best part about coming back. Last time after I had been out for a day, a little boy walked in and said, "Good! You're back!" Ahhh, love the love!

Cards for Kids!

Happy Monday! Time to share the 62 cards I made for the 2nd graders to personalize and send to Winter for the St. Jude and Texas Children's Hospital card drives! They had so much fun with this! I went to a crop a few weeks ago, and I was too tired to pack up all of my stuff, but I wanted to hang with the girls you know...so I decided it would be a perfect night for this project. It started with just 20 card for my class, but then it grew to include all of the 2nd graders.

Below are some of the pictures of the inside of the cards. The kids were SO sweet, writing "We love you" and "We miss you", what a sweet age they are at! I'm sure my kids enjoyed it just as much as the kids who will be receiving the cards. Thanks, Winter, for organizing the project!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

Scrapbook Sunday #19

Happy Sunday! Yes, it's a scrapbook page! I thought I would *try* to revive my Scrapbook Sunday posts because I am getting way behind in my scrapping! I'm starting here with one of my pages from the Leadership Conference and hopefully this will motivate me to get busy again with my own pages!

Aren't these kids beautiful?! My friend Beverly so graciously let me *borrow* them for the page! You might remember them from the beach page here. And they are as sweet as they are cute!

Are you having a good weeekend? I'm afraid I lazed away yesterday so will pay for it today, sigh. I started reading Uglies over Christmas break on a friend's recommendation, not realizing it was a 4-book series. Doh! I started the last one Friday night...I didn't dare pick it up from the library until then! It's a really good series, futuristic, but you don't have to be a sci-fi head to like it. The hardest part was getting past that it was in the *young adult* section. I guess I am young at heart...ha!

Better dash, still have to go back to school to get some stuff done. I stayed until 5:45 Friday night, at the risk of serious censure from dh (can't work past dark in that neighborhood, especially not alone), but I still didn't manage to get everything done for the coming week and the sub on Monday, sigh. Oh well, once Monday comes, it will be an easy day!

Have a super Sunday! Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

With All My Heart

Happy Friday! We made it! I'm afraid I stayed up too late last night, so wish me luck today! ha! I have a teacher workshop on Monday, which I'm looking forward to, but that means having special plans and everything ready to go for a sub on Monday...not so easy, unless I want to go in over the weekend, and I don't! =)

This card uses the With All My Heart set (Spring Occasions Mini Catalog), but it only uses one of the word stamps, so I did feel a little bad neglecting the other poor little stamps in the set. I also used another one of the journaling pieces from The Write Stuff dsp, can you tell I like those?! The little hearts on the circle I punched with the Heart to Heart punch and then attached them to the circle punch with mini glue dots for a little lift.

Okay, guess I better get moving, it's definitely going to be a Starbucks morning. Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

Vintage Labels: Best Wishes bag

Happy Thursday! We are close to Friday, my friends! Yippee!

Thought I'd share a 3-D project for a change and this one seemed like a good choice since it matched the colors from yesterday's card. It's a gift bag I created from Soft Suede 12x12 carstock. To reinforce the sides and make it stronger, I glued a sheet of chipboard to the inside (like the white chipboard pieces that come in the Stampin' Up! designer series paper packages) and then glued a sheet of patterned paper on top of the chipboard so it would look pretty.

The last letter "t" has a little banner sticking out saying "wishes" but it's hard to see in the photo. I made the rosettes like this and to make the paper ruffle, I softened a strip of cardstock by rubbing it over and over with my bone folder, then pulled it apart so you can see the texture of the inside of the paper. Last step, I made the little pleat folds randomly and glued them down. Let me know if you have any other questions!

Well, duty calls...school duty that is! Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

Good Neighbors: unique

Happy Wednesday! I'm liking it that it's Wednesday already, how about you?! Yesterday was a good day at school, but this morning I am feeling like I want MORE sleep, ugh!

Here's yet another Leadership sample, this one using Good Neighbors again. I think it was one of my favorites, because I love this color combo and I love the old row houses.

Gotta skedaddle, hope you have a great day! Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

Moxie Fab: Color Play challenge!

I'm back! When I should have been working on school stuff this afternoon, I decided to play along with the Moxie Fab Color Play challenge instead! This was a tough one and I had no intention of trying it at first, but the more I looked at it, the more I liked the challenge!

I used SU Rich Razzleberry for the base, a little Pale Plum for the Scallop circle, and some retired Marigold Morning for the lion and polka dot strip. The lavender floral is from an *oldish* DCWV stack. Can you tell I had to do some digging to get all these colors? ha! At first I was tempted to use LOTS of white, but I just kept at it instead...to the detriment of my schoolwork, as I mentioned!

Okay, now I really am off to work on lesson plans and grading! Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

Recipe
Stamps: SU Fox & Friends, Hot Potatoes polka dot.
Cardstock: Rich Razzleberry, Pale Plum, Whisper White, retired Marigold Morning, DCWV floral paper.
Ink: Marigold Morning, Craft White.
Accessories: Big Shot, Pennant Die, 1 3/4" Circle Punch, retired SAB rub-ons, Making Memories ribbon, embroidery floss, Foof-a-La Playtime button.

Good Neighbors: home AND some Christmas RAKS!

Happy Monday! And a happy Monday it is since we are off school! Although I will be working on lesson plans and grading papers today, since I seemed to have put it off once again, sigh. A teacher's work is never done...(are you buying this yet?!)...

You know the drill, here's another card from the SU Leadership Conference, this one using the Good Neighbors set. This is probably my very favorite set from the Sell-a-Bration catalog and the new Occasions Mini catalog. It's just so dang cute! As you can see here, you don't even have to watercolor the little houses if you don't want to! *wink* And can you tell that I was cutting out those letters and got to the "e" and said, "Forget it!" Thank goodness for circle punches!

Bonus today! I finally got photos taken of the homemade Christmas cards I received this year! What a bunch of beautiful cards, wait until you see! Did I send any? No, hanging my head in shame, but thank you, girls for thinking of me! I will pay it backwards, I promise! Hugs!

Look at this yumminess from the fabulous Amy (who doesn't know Amy?!) over at Tsuruta Designs:

Now check out this beautiful design, with amazing glittery polka dots, from Juanita over at Rubberside Down:

Also, my amazing upline Jackie Ross, who never forgets me, created this Dasher beauty with lots of Big Shot texture:

Another Dasher card from my friend and fellow demo Jennifer Henry, love it on the Kraft here:

And last, but not least, this is not Christmas, but a gorgeous RAK I received from the incredible Beate over at Fresh & Fun that she sent me for writing the Top Note Tutorial for Splitcoast, thank you Beate!

Hope you enjoyed those!

Now, I'm wondering, is it wrong to want to go back to bed?! Hee! Hee! Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

Cardstock: Bashful Blue Textured, Kraft, The Write Stuff DSP (circle piece).

Whimsical Words: follow your heart

Happy Saturday! Does everyone have big plans for the weekend?! I'm so thankful we have a 3-day weekend! The exciting part for me, my parents are coming through the DFW metroplex on their way to South Texas for the winter, so I'll get to see them for a bit. Now just to think of some *exciting* stuff to show them, lol!

Here's another SU Leadership card using the Whimsical Words set. I was trying to think of something different to do, so this is what I came up with, even though it seemed a little crazy later! ha! Then then the "y" on the word "way" got chopped off a bit in the punch and I wanted to re-do it, but the punch quit working after that first punch. Argh! The little white square with the hearts is one of the journaling pieces from The Write Stuff, love those!

Ta-ta for now my blogging friends, have a great day! Thanks for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

Whimsical Words: sweet

Happy Friday! Can I get an "Awww, yeah!"?!

Here is another SU Leadership Conference card (I know you're wondering, what is she going to do when she runs out of these samples to share?! I know I am!) I used the new Sell-a-Bration set Whimsical Words. It's a great set of sentiments. A lot of Big Shot goodies on here with the Top Note die and Simple Letters Alphabet.

Okay, guess I better get moving. I went to a teacher workshop yesterday, Culture and the Brain, and it was outstanding! Can't wait to get back to the kiddos and try some things out on their little brains!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

Vintage Labels: Shabby Best Wishes

Happy Wednesday! I managed to get up when the alarm went off today, schwooo! I don't know why this year I've started turning it off and continuing to sleep! Ugh! I set the alarm on my iPhone as an emergency back-up now and put it across the room! Smart thinking, huh?!

Here's another SU Leadership Conference sample, and I actually branched out of my *simple* stamping and did a *technique*! ha! I stamped the Vintage Label image in Versamark ink on Watercolor Paper, then heat embossed with clear embossing powder. Lastly, I watercolored the Rich Razzleberry ink on top of it with my Aquapainter. I think it's called Emboss Resist? Maybe? And miracle of all miracles, I used some Very Vanilla hodgepodge hardware that I hoard terribly!

Okey dokey, I better skedaddle...I thought I would try to actually fix my hair today since dh said it looked "interesting" when I got home from work last night. Doh! The unpredictability of naturally curly hair, sigh. Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

Vintage Label: abc

Happy Monday! I thought this card seemed appropriate since the weekend is over and it's back-to-school today! Can I just tell you that I'm SO glad next Monday is a holiday already?! hee!

I used the new Sale-a-Bration set Vintage Labels again. The card base is Kraft and then I tried to add some typical "primary" colors. Easy peasy with that yummy polka dot ribbon!

Hope you have a great Monday! Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

New home congratulations box

Happy Sunday! Hope y'all had a super weekend. I don't know how they go by so fast! I still have some school stuff to work on for tomorrow, but thought I would post this real quick-like! ;-)

This photo is not the best, it was taken inside late at night, of course, as the leadership samples deadline loomed near, ha! I used the Big Shot and the Fancy Favor box die, just modifying it by punching a 1 3/4" circle in the front and lining it with a transparency sheet. I tucked a little cello bag full of Skittles inside. I'm sure everyone thinks "Skittles" when they think "new home gift"! ha! I had bought a pretty little glass candle to put inside, but it didn't fit, so I had to fall back on plan B, c'est la vie!

Enjoy your evening! Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

Good Neighbors Best Wishes

Happy Friday! I've been home with migraine all day, up and trying to recover now, so even though the day didn't start like this, I think it's safe to say "Happy Friday" now! lol! Hope my kiddos had a good day, I don't like to leave them unexpectedly!

Thought I should post another quick card before I head back to the sofa (and a night of dvds with dh), so here ya go, another SU leadership conference display card. This one uses the new SAB set Good Neighbors, my FAVORITE! I've always loved house and furniture stamps, probably going back to my interior design days, and this one is a combination solid image stamps and outline stamps (for those who love to water-color), how perfect! I wish it had some sentiments or a coordinating sentiment set, but for now I used the "best wishes" from the Vintage Label set.

Okay, dh just woke up from his Friday night nap and wants me to order pizza, how can I say no...guess it's my night to "cook"! lol! Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

Oh my word! It's only Thursday?! Can I make it until Friday?! =)

Here's another display card for the SU Leadership Conference. I used the new Sell-a-Bration set Happy Moments. Y'all know I'm not a water-colorer, so this was a stretch for me! lol!

Okay, off in search of major caffeine...! Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

Best Wishes

Happy Wednesday! We've made it to hump day! How can I be so ready for Friday already?! Anybody else with me?!

This little card (4 1/4" x 4 1/4") is one of my display samples for the SU Leadership Conference, and it's made with one of the new Stampin' Up! Sell-a-Bration sets called Vintage Label. It's a great set of frame stamps, and this one works perfectly with the Curly Label punch. I twisted some linen thread around a mini brad to make a little flower, pretty simple. I got this color combo from a list of SU recommendations, and I loved it!

That's it for now...in desperate need of coffee! Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

i heart U

Happy Tuesday! I survived back-to-school Monday, although I did have to take a 2 hour nap when I got home! lol!

I really hoped to "stamp" last night, but that didn't happen, so here's another "scrappy" card from the crop Saturday. I used some Sassafrass Lass goodies (that I've been known to hoard) and some super yumm-o ribbon. I think tomorrow starts the Stampin' Up! Leadership Conference and then I'll be able to share a lot of samples I made for the display boards using new Occasions Mini Catalog and Sale-a-Bration goodies!

Gotta run, set my alarm wrong...Freudian, perhaps?...luckily dh caught it with just a 15 minute oversleep! Oops! Have a great Tuesday! Thanks for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

Cardstock: SU Basic Black.
Accessories: Sassafrass Lass sticker and chipboard letters; May Arts ribbon.

Another hi!

Happy Monday! It's another "hi!" card! This is the second card I made at the crop Saturday. I seemed to be in the mood for "hi"!

This is a quicky post as I need to get off to school, sigh. I am NOT ready! lol! My plans took longer than I expected Sunday, but I made it through about half of my Google reader. I got so behind being away from a computer for a week! Hopefully I'll catch up tonight, plus, I'm still going through a huge pile of mail and I have some GORGEOUS craks I'll need to share soon! Love you girls for thinking of me! *wink*

Have a super Monday! Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

Hi!

Hi peeps! Hope your New Year is off to a great start! We arrived back in Texas safe and sound Friday night and I headed to an all-day crop at The Crafty Scrapper on Saturday! Fun! I didn't make it all day, of course, arrived around 3:00, but still had a great time hanging with the girls!

My goal was to make 8 cards and I made it, just barely! lol! This paper came from a little 6x6 pad by Nikki Sivils. I wasn't familiar with this brand, but it was really cute paper! The little chipboard bird and pieces are from Crate Paper that I picked up at Archiver's in Kansas City. Oh my, my sister-in-law and I had FUN there!

Okay, off to work on lesson plans, materials, grading,...all that back-t0-school stuff I put off until the very last day of vacation! lol!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!
