Oh What Fun! (firefighters AND a card!)

Happy Friday! This "Oh What Fun!" card made with Cosmo Cricket goodies seemed appropriate for this post since I also promised pictures of our firefighters' visit! hee! hee!

I took them with them my iPhone and I tried to be "subtle" and not get TOO close to the firemen (I was supposed to be watching children after all, lol!), so here's what I got! One coming down the rope:

Showing off a bit, yumm!

Then they asked for teacher volunteers to do this, and I raised my hand! BUT, I thought they were joking. They weren't! I chickened out after I saw Mr. Campbell do it and saw how the harness belts did NOT look attractive! (I could just see them strapping them around my gut and thunder thighs! lol!) So I declined and the uber cute Ms. Hannah did it:

They raised her really high!

Here we are going on the truck...yes, I did do this!

We just got off the truck and they got a call and had to leave, so that was kind of exciting:

And that's that! Hope y'all have a happy Friday! I'm worried about the Halloween celebrations at school, they are going to be TOO wound up, plus we have the Fall Carnival from 5:30 to 7:30. It's going to be a long day, wish me luck!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

Holiday Windows

Happy Thursday! Thank goodness it's almost Friday, what a week!

Here's a quick share of another card I made at the scrapbooking retreat. (Are you getting the feeling I haven't made anything new since the scrapbooking retreat? You would be right! lol!) I used the fabulous Big Shot with the the Movers and Shapers die and the special Holiday Windows Die from the Holiday Mini. The Movers and Shapers die with the coordinating dies are so cool and have so much potential, I definitely need to play more! This bird is beautiful, though, I love it! The black folded "ribbon" is a paper ribbon, gotta love making your own matching ribbon!

Since I mentioned the retreat again, I thought I better share this random photo below. On our way to the retreat in Lindale, we stopped for lunch in Terrell at a cafe we found on the Internet. However, it was no longer there, so we got a recommendation for another local restaurant, a Mexican food place...it happened to feature the Hunting Channel on a big-screen tv while you ate, nice, right?! Anyway, the food wasn't bad, but it was a little unsettling finding this on the bathroom floor after eating:

Things that make you go hmmmm!

That's it for now! Be sure and check back tomorrow because I'm working on some photos from when the firemen visited school yesterday, yummmm! Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

Scrapping at Sophia's Shower!

Here is the adorable baby Sophia!! We had the best time at a scrapbooking shower for her Sunday, and maybe we were planting the "scrapping seed" early while she was watching us! Here is her beautiful mom, Valerie, with an adorable, vintage baby book Lori gave her:

Here she is with the CUTEST framed baby page that Margaret made for her:

Beverly bought an 8x8 baby album and paper pack so we could all make her a set of pages, so clever, huh? Here are mine, before I had to go back and change the date to 02-10, oops!

Scrapbookers, hard at work:

And not so hard at work:

And last, but not least, the YUMMY cupcakes Lori made:

Okay, that's it for now! Hope you have a great day! Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

Happy 19th Anniversary!

Happy Tuesday! Here's a quick post to say Happy 19th Anniversary to my dear hubby! I made this page several years ago, but it's what I could find to share right now. He's still my best friend and my favorite person to spend time with, or as we like to say, he has "FHS" with me..."Favorite Human Status"...that's pretty good, right? I mean, there are a LOT of humans out there! He was even super understanding tonight when after working late I was too tired to go out and celebrate (and had to take a 2 1/2 hour nap!), so we rescheduled until this weekend. He's a keeper!

Hope your week is going well! Thanks so much for stopping by and putting up with my "fluff" post! Hugs and happy stamping!

Here's a super quick card...I just couldn't resist using this darling little piece with the hilarious sentiment! I have SO many people I could send this to! lol!

We had quite another night of rain and storms, making for very little sleep. Ugh! What is up with all this rain?! Hope you're doing well and staying dry in your neck of the woods!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

Family

Happy Sunday! This seemed like a good card to share today since I enjoyed talking (or texting) to lots of my family members yesterday! It's another card I made at the scrapping retreat, using goodies from the September 2009 Scarlet Lime kit. Kudos to Beverly and me for finally breaking into some kits and using them! The card base is Stampin' Up! Naturals Ivory...recently fell in love with this color again!

Hope you are having a great weekend! I'm heading to a fun baby shower this afternoon...even more fun because baby Sophia is already here so we can play with her! We have another fun surprise too (better not share that in case Sophia's mom is reading!), but I'll have pictures to share later!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

Just Beclause swap

Happy Tuesday night! Here's a swap card I made...I was even brave and tried some watercoloring! lol! This is my prototype, so it was a little bit sloppier than the actual swap cards ...at least I hope the actual swap cards were a little better! Just a simple little card with some stitching, ya know I love the stitching!

Hope all is well out in your world! Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

Teeny Tiny Wishes: Merry Christmas

Happy Tuesday! I overslept, so here's a quick post without a lot of chit chat...very hard for me! lol!

I made this card during our Scrapbooking Retreat. When I showed dh his eyes got SO round and he was speechless...this is a little busier than my usual style, and a little too busy for him! lol!

The "Merry Christmas" is from Teeny Tiny Wishes and there's more of that yummy SU flocked paper. I also used the new Petals-a-Plenty textured impressions folder with my Big Shot on that white piece. Aren't those flowers yummy? This misc. flowers and pins are from a Scarlet Lime kit and the houndstooth button (swoon!) is Jenni Bowlin. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Hope you have a great Tuesday! Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

Twick or Tweet: M's Sketch boo!

Happy Saturday...again! Luckily when I was checking out Amy's blog, I was reminded about M's Challenge (I lifted her darling photo!) and tonight was the deadline! So I whipped this little card up. Seeing the Rusty Pickle Costume Party ribbon package inspired me...love those black pom poms and orange torn fabric ribbon! I even splurged and cut into that yummy black and white paper from the SU mini catalog, yummm! Add a few Thickers, and voila!

Hope you're having a great day! Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

All Holidays: Merry Christmas with flocked snowflake

Happy Saturday! Here's a super simple dimple card, probably too simple but I'm sharing it anyway! hee! hee! I had a scrap of that yummy flocked paper from the SU mini catalog, and I couldn't let it go to waste, so I used the snowflake punch. Add a a button and voila, simple dimple card!

Hope you're all doing well and had a great week! I have so much to do, trying not to freak out on the inside! lol! I did survive yesterday...the 2nd graders made volcanoes with eruptions, schwooo! We have a 3 hour block on Fridays to do more complicated experiments, but I'm so tired by Fridays, I was worried. Plus, the kids get SO excited, it's a little scary! ha! But they were good and it turned out well. If you wanna know how much I love them...the experiment requires VINEGAR, and my friends know how I am about "smells" and I HATE vinegar. The whole classroom reeked! lol! Hopefully it'll all be aired out by Monday!

Ta Ta for now! Hope you have a great weekend! Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

Just Beclause: Oval Santa in River Rock

Hi peeps! I tried to get home from school in time to take a photo outside, and as you can see, I was pushing it! And it rains practically everyday in Dallas now, which isn't helping! lol! Plus, I took one of my desk lamps to school earlier this year, so it's very difficult to get enough light for a good inside shot too. Maybe I'll have top break down and get a lightbox one of these days! Okay, enough whining, lol!

Here's one of my scrapping retreat cards made with the Just Beclause set. The Santa was on a rejected card, so I punched out part of him with the large oval punch. Don't you love the River Rock? It really grows on me more and more! I also love coloring in accents on dark cardstock with White Craft ink and a blender pen. I just dip it right in the craft ink, so easy and effective! That's my kind of watercoloring! lol!

Hope your week is going well! I laid down for a quick nap again last night at 6:30 and woke up at 9:30! Yikes! Now I need to get some papers graded and work on next week's lesson plans, but I am feeling soooo sleepy! ha! Wish me luck!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

Twick or Tweet: you make me smile!

Hiya peeps! Yes, it's really me with a post...just 2 days after the last one, a miracle! Just check my Google stats, I'm down to .9 posts per week! Aye yi yi! But no worries, I got enough cards made at my scrapbook retreat to tide me over for a little while! No, not 40 cards (whose crazy *ss goal was that, anyways?!), but enough for awhile! lol!

So, here is one. This is the first card I made at the retreat once I got unloaded and set up. I drank one small margarita (my only one all weekend actually!), made this card, then took a 2 hour nap. Ahhh, the good life! I finally got to use my Twick or Tweet stamp set, LOVE this one! I think I need to color the pumpkins in some more, you know watercoloring is not my strength! lol!

Okay, I better check on some school stuff and make sure I'm ready for Monday morning, sigh. I had such a great time at the retreat with my girlfriends, oh how I've missed them lately! Why does it have to go by so quickly?! I hope y'all had a great weekend too! Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

Laura's Sketch #36

Hola chicas! I'm making cards! Yeehaw! We arrived at our scrapbooking retreat yesterday afternoon around 2:00, and I've been card-making ever since...well, when I haven't been sleeping, eating, drinking, or having a massage! lol!

I had to get a card done for Laura's Sketch #36 over at 2S4Y! I have always done their sketches regularly, so I've really been missing them! I have to make time for some stamping I've decided. If my students only reach 90% of their ability instead of 100%, so be it. Just kidding! I'll give up something else...like cleaning or laundry!

Okay, back to the card. I didn't get too creative, just pretty much an exact copy of the sketch, but with yummy Cosmo Cricket Jolly by Golly, it was super easy! For the sentiment strip at the bottom of the card, I cut it right off the bottom one of the sheets of paper, how economical, huh?!

Okay, off to more producing. My goal is 40 cards and I've only got 4 done so far. I know, I know, so much for a relaxing weekend, but one MUST have goals, right?!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and happy stamping!

Just Beclause

Hey peeps! Long time, no see! Hope you are all doing well! I just remembered that I had one extra Just Beclause card that I didn't use on my Catty Cruise post last week, so here it is! It's another one-layer card, this one done in Very Vanilla.

School is going well, I really do have the best class. They do say the cutest things, but unfortunately, I'm so exhausted I can never seem to remember them! lol! I need to start writing them down. I've been fighting some type of head cold/gunk thing for two weeks, but so far have avoided the dreaded flu, unlike dozens of other teachers and students at our two schools. I'm taking next Friday off and heading off to a scrapbooking retreat, so I'm super excited about that! I plan on making a HUGE stash of cards so I'll be prepared to share up until Thanksgiving break! Hee!

Take care and thanks for stopping by and hanging with me on my very sporadic posting! Hugs and happy stamping!!
